    I've figured it out. You must have added the mail account after that your contacts are not appearing. Goto contacts settings choose the default account 'iCloud'. If u wanna see your missing contacts then goto contacts then press 'groups' tab at the top left corner the select all groups. Your missing contacts re actually saved in one of email account you have added. In order to bring them to icloud you have to add them again after selecting icloud as default contacts account. I hope this would have solve your problem.

    Don't confuse the threads here with 'typical' experience.  Most of the stuff here is from brand new users, and those that have problems, and considering the 30 million pads in use, represent a very small sliver.
    If you are having repeated crashes it is really pretty basic.  You either have a physical problem with your pad, or you are using too much memory.
    The iOS system is supposed to monitor memory, and shut down previously used apps automatically to free up memory for what you are doing now.  That part of ios is not perfect, and if an app introduces an unexpected memory load, sometimes it gets over whelmed.  
    This happens, more often than not, when using safari with multiple windows open on graphic intense sites.  It can also happen with a memory intensive game, and residual apps in the background.
    Double  tap the home key and take a peek at the recently used list, and shut them down completely, and often the problem goes away.
    If the problem persists, you may have a software issue, and a trip to the genius bar may be in order.

    Does anyone have problems with iPhone 5 getting hot? I just bought a new iPhone 5 & it's gotten hot twice. Once when I was on FaceTime for 30 min it got hot about 15 min into the call. & once when I was downloading some apps.

    It is normal for it to get warm when it's being used, especially if it is hot outside. It can even get uncomfortably warm. As long as it is not causing you physical harm (as in giving you burns) or displaying a temperature warning, then it's normal behavior. It's like taking your laptop outside and using it. Except the laptop will probably burn you.

    Does anyone have experience with error 504 when trying to download a podcast?  I've been a subscriber for two years without issue and in the last two days can't download this particular podcast (everything else is working fine - music, other podcasts, etc)

    The album was released on the 27th March this year, so the error occurred almost immediately after it was supposedly available.
    In the manage pre-orders section of my account, it says AVAILABLE but does not give me any choice over whether to download it, just to cancel it. Is this normal?
    iTunes customer services reset my password and tried to download the album themselves, but they also got the 5002 error, so it's been passed off to the engineers. How long does that usually take?
    If anyone has any other suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

    No, I use Chrome daily with 10.9.1 and it is still very speedy.

    Thanks for the help!  I have submitted it to the TS!  It is really strange.  I have had two friends slip their phone right in and it works and mine does nothing, yet I can charge my phone with all my charger hook ups.  Let's hope the mystery gets solved!  Thanks again!

    Anyone having trouble with iPad3 after installing OS6.1.3?  Mine keeps crashing.

    Mine seems to be just fine. 
    Try a reset,
    Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad  will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
    Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
    Good luck and do report back.

    Anyone having trouble with App Store install and cloud store buttons not working after 6.1 update? I go to install an app. I hit install and nothing happens. About a minute later it asks me for my password and then it does nothing. The install button goes back to saying install. However the app shows up in my installed list and in cloud but no app installed.

    OK - I found a helpful post - closed app store app and under Settings/General/Date and Time I reset the date and time by switching off "Set Automatically" and then switching it on again. Went back to App Store, launched it and Updatesseems to be working again.
    Go figure? Logical, No!

    In the subject you mention "apps", but in your message you speak about only one app.
    If there is only one single app that crashes, contact the developer of that app.
    If you have many apps (even built-in apps) quitting unexpectedly, try a reset first: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    If the reset doesn't fix it, try a restore:

  • Anyone have trouble with ULN 4.5 ISOs?

    I've never had a problem with downloading, burning, and using ISOs, until now...
    I don't claim to be an expert, but I've been around the farm a while.
    I downloaded the 4.5 installation (zipped) ISOs, 4 of them. I checked the md5sums on the zip files (Don't you wish they'd give you md5sums on the extracted .iso files? I have to just trust my unzipper.), and they all matched. I wrote them to CDs with cdrecord, and then from a Windows machine later, when I found the problem I'll describe in a minute. The problem that I subsequently found is the same.
    I verified that I could mount and read all 4 CDs, just like always, with a simple
    cp -r /mnt/cdrom /tmp
    It's just a sanity check, not a good test, I know.
    I used the CDs to do a test install, and I asked the installer to check the CDs when he offered to. (Actually, I did NOT do this the first time, but after I found the problem that I'm just about to get to, I re-did the install and had him check. They were ALL okay.)
    Finally, the problem: I took the CDs to work to copy them back to ISO files on my VMWare server, where I plan to deploy several virtual machines. I've done this step several times, with ULN 4.4 CDs, and a number of other Linux and Windows CDs. Never had a problem.
    I put the first CD in the VMWare ESX server (if you're not familiar with this, it's "just Linux" at the console). I did a
    cp /dev/cdrom disc1.iso
    (If you say I should use "dd", my reply is that you get the same answer.) I've done this 'cp' many times and it's never failed me. On the first two CDs of the 4.5 set, however, I get an "input/output error" when I copy the CD. (This same error occurs on a ULN 4.4 machine, so it's probably NOT VMWare.) I looked at the ISO image it copied, and it looks like the right size, so I md5sum'ed it. It did NOT match. I looked at the ISO again, and it's really 2048 bytes short. I got this on the first TWO CDs, as I said. The other two were okay. Right size and md5sum.
    Anyhow, I did a test install from the ISOs I made (first 2 'bad') and asked the installer to check the CDs. He was perfectly happy with them, and the install worked fine, it seems.
    In summary, two different CD write methods (Linux and Windows), and copying the CD back to an ISO file on two different Linux machines get slightly short ISO files that SEEM to work. No errors on the writes that I can see. I/O errors noted by 'cp' and 'dd' when I copy them back to disk. Size and md5sum mismatch.
    Any ideas?

    I purchased a black 16gb iPhone 4 on 6/30/11 and a white 16gb iPhone 4 on 7/7/11. They are completely different heat and battery wise. I am returning the white one to AT&T despite the hefty $60 restocking fee due to the overheating issue. Do not tell me it is the same for every iPhone 4 because my black one is perfect and has never had ANY issues with battery or heat. The phones were the same iOS version, the same settings, yet the white one is more of a paperweight than anything else. Take the advice of someone who has purchased every version of every iPhone since 2G for both lines on my account, do NOT buy a white iPhone 4 EVER. It is a complete waste of an upgrade and your time.

    I' ve just upgraded my E71's Firmware, now i get in trouble with this FW. There are some problems:
    1. My device always auto restart 
    2. When i'm charging my E71, sometimes, it appears a message " Simcard not available"
    3. My E71 is full charging but after one day it need help with a message " low battery "

    I don't get any of those problems and been running the 300 for many months.
    What I suggest you do, is BACK UP YOUR PHONE BEFORE YOU start formatting and erasing!
    Then, reset or reformat your phone as described by the previous poster, additionally it could be something in your backup thats causing the problem.
    Second, instead of reformatting the handset you can reflash the SAME firmware to the handset again with NSU, there might have been a problem when it copied it into the flash memory (unlikely as it has a checksum) however you cannot rule that out.
    If its having SIM card problems - it could be related to this:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=topfaq&thread.id=119 OK it says memory card, but could be a similar issue.
    Additionally you could charge or get the battery from another phone and allow yours to discharge it to until the phone switches off.
    I would at least reflash the firmware myself again, I have seen a difference with handsets when this is done. Why? I don't know.

  • Has anyone faced troubles with iPhone internal speaker?

    Unfortunately, since I've bought my iPhone 4S less than 8 months, I'm facing troubles with the internal speaker of the phone.
    It was enough just to restart the device to get the ringtone and speaker work.
    But today, suddenly, the voice has disappeared again! I can hear the ppl calling me but no any other tones or rings r working.
    I googled for a solution, and I was shocked that I found a lot of iPhone users r facing the same problem!
    With all types of iPhone, seems it's been a long time problem with apple software that apple hasn't found a solution to it, nor admitting that they have such problem.
    I need to get my phone fixed, but I do t want to lose my data, photos, a d programs..
    And I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE MY PHONE AT A WORK SHOP! It's a HEADACHE?
    So please if u have any other easy solutions to provide, I'll be so thankful.

    Have you tried resetting your iPhone?
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
    A further troubleshooting step would be to backup your iPhone and then restore it as new using iTunes.
