HT4623 Battery wont hold a charge more than 2 hours.

Any fixes?
I have tried all the adjustments.  This is more dramatic.

Phone is only 10 months old.  I took it to an apple "genius" who ran a diagnostic and said the battery is performing as it should.  Said it was the exchange server.  I talked with my IT group who said that was crazy.  No other problems in the entire national system.
Hard to imagine!

The only warranty it might still be under is the 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects.  You can check the status of this warranty using this link.

  • Battery wont hold a charge

We have 2 iPod nanos one only holds a charge for about 45mins and the other we can not get to turn on at all any suggestions

I would like to get specific info on how to reset my PMU, I am in South America with a dead battery and not much money, i would like to try to reset first.
especially since my batter info is:
    Battery Installed: yes
    first low level warning: no
    full charge capacity: 4203
    remaining: 0
    Amperage: 0
    Voltage: 9175
    Cycle count: 54
I believe even though the battery has been dead for more than a year, that maybe i can milk some juice out of it, i tried following the instructions on the
    page:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449
where it says to remove the keyboard, but upon trying and not wanting to brake anything, a closer look on the only photo provided of the DVI shows a speaker next to the power button, which means its probably a 15" , in other words not my exact machine,,,,
I am at a loss, i have also tried the control shift command power down thing............ no change in battery , always at 0 percent and lasts not one second without a wall plug.
    I am using OSX 10.4.7
Id really appreciate any advice. Thank You, Aymar

You replaced the battery yourself or Apple did it?
If you did it, you messed something up.
If Apple did it, take it back.

  • Recently bought a MacBook Pro 13 inch with apple care and since day one has not been able to hold a charge more than an hour. Is this covered? What can and will apple do for me?

So I bought my MacBook Pro 13 inch with AppleCare protection about 2 weeks ago and from the moment it came out of the box I noticed that the battery was draining very quickly. Perhaps in the midst of my excitement of having a new computer I ignored it thinking it could somehow get better but obviously it has not. Average after being fully charged from being dead the batter lasts maybe an hour to an hour and a half. I'm assuming apple will take care of this seeing as it came to me like this but that's exactly my question, will they? Any information about what they cover or how to go about getting this fixed is very much appreciated!

You are covered under the 1-year warranty.
You have a 14 day grace period to exchange it for one that works.
Past that, get it looked at

Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.
Clean the lightning port to remove any lint/debris.

    Advice:
    1. Learn to use punctuation and sentence structure - your post makes little sense.
    2. I'm getting the idea you now want to use your old "useless" battery.  Why, if it's useless?

  • Battery died, wont hold a charge, just died.  Fully charged battery dies in approx 2 hours.  Is it battery gone bad. Or something causing battery to use excessive amount of energy.  Do you lose data if battery goes out?

Battery died, wont hold a charge.  After fully charging battery, battery loses all power in 2 hours. Is this indicative of a battery gone bad or something else?  Will I lose data if battery completely dies?

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
Yes I have done the reset-didn't work.
Yeh, the calibration was done so the phone turned off, then plugged back in to charge back to 100%!
The iphone4s was connected to the charger outlet, the second I unplugged the phone the battery percentage went from 100% to 98%.
AS we speak my phone is now on 100%, after 10 mins usage and 33 minutes standby. This just doesn't correlate with the decrease in battery life associated with every other number (e.g 99,98,97%) apart from when it is on 100%.

  • Battery doesnt hold a charge

My blackberry curve 9360 wont hold a charge for more then 6-8 hours now. I have taken the battery out and the sim card and restarted it several times but it still wont hold a charge for more then 6-8 hours.
Is there anything else i can do to fix this issue? I really dont want to have to switch to another phone

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
IF your usage patterns haven't changed, consider that perhaps your battery may be losing it's lifespan...they do not last forever. You can test by trading batteries with someone else and see how things go.
If your usage patterns, installed apps, and other things have indeed changed, then perhaps those are the reason for the higher battery drain.
    Good luck!

Have you called iPod technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273), considered taking the iPod to an Apple Store or an AASP?

  • Wont hold a charge - wifi, location, bluetooth all off and charge runs out in 3 hours (no calls even)

Everything working fine and then all of sudden it wont hold a charge
    - Turned everything off - wifi, bluetooth, locatione etc
    - still wont hold charge for than 3 hours ( no talking even .

Joe - Pretty much all of my media is either ripped or downloaded through itunes. I don't use any file sharing sites. I'm going to have to go through and delete the few things I do have that I don't remember the source.
Now this is interesting. I went and picked up my ipod tonight, and talked to the guy at the apple store. He said that since the ipod's been through two test cycles, the problem must be in my playlist. He told me that in testing they completely wipe the ipod and load it with test songs to see how long playback lasts. I got it home and turned it on, and it has all my old stuff on it. Is that normal? I figured it would just be wiped. And to this point it seems to be holding a charge, which makes no sense if the problem was with my files because they're all still on there. Very confused. I'm going to leave it another day without syncing it to see what happens, it really doesn't make any sense.
