HT4623 Calendar drops appointments 1 to 2 weeks after entering them

How do I fix the I-phone calendar as it will drop my appointments after they are entered after about a week.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Sync (all the way down under "Calendar") > [change to something you like]

Answering this question will not help your issue. You need to take the iPhone to the nearest Genius Bar. That's the only solution that will reach an affirmative result.

iOS 7 devices need iTunes 11.1 or newer to sync. Depending upon your computer and the OS it is running, you may not be able to upgrade to iTunes 11.1 based on the requirements for iTunes 11.1. What computer and OS are you running your iTunes on? From the iTunes download pages I see the requiorements are:

OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store

Calendar program has dropped all my calendars and appointments.

For some reason my calendar program on my iPad has lost all my calendars and appointments. The one for my iMac, Macbbook Pro and iPhne are still ok. What do I do now? How do I force it to sync up again? Any help appreciated.

What are you syncing from? Your Mac or an email system like Exchange?

Why don't I have the same opoisions in my calendar for appointments? Online in iCloud calendar there are options to pick from for days of the week and how many weeks to set an appointment. Why can't I do this on my iPhone or iPad? Am I missing a setting to be able to do this? I make most of my apointments away from my desk and would like to send a invitation at that time.

I added a calendar event to repeat every two weeks, but it repeats every day.

I've added a calendar event to repeat every two weeks, but it repeats every day. The original event was set up for all Day on Wednesday, Nov 5. Setting up for a single day worked fine. Add the repeat option and select every two weeks...and it shows up every day until the end date. I've re-booted the phone and tried other start dates. Same result. This is in the base iPhone calendar. No other calendars have been installed. iPhone 6 iOS 8.0.2. Any suggestions?

Found a workaround:
Just change each attribute 1 item at a time.
Create the calendar entry for one day only with no other settings.
Go back in and edit it so that its every two weeks, then leave and confirm this worked.
Open calendar back up and add in the end date.
That's the only way I could get it to accept those settings, one attribute at a time.
Misc. bug I suppose. I miss the "It just works" days. Living in silicon valley, the QA engineering buds I have at apple go on rants about the undisclosed/undiscovered but known bugs in ios every time we're having drinks. From what I hear, internally IOS8/8.1 weren't ready for prime time push just yet.

I had a similiar problem, with my multiple devices. I open iTunes and when all devices were connected I went to the info section on each device. Under info I checked the sync calandars. Under that I click all calanders. I then did the apply in low right. I then did the sync function and it fixed it for me. You have to do this for each device.
I also checked the device (ipad,Iphone) themselves and change the calander selection to NO Catagory. Hope this helps.

How to change the length of time calendar retains appointments

On my previous Blackberry running OS7, I was able to change the length of time the calendar kept appointments, but I can't find that setting on my Q10. I would like to be able to keep appointments on the calendar indefinitely. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the discussions.
I think you are asking about the durations for subtitles. There is a maximum duration for titles, and that duration varies depending on which title you select. For just 'subtitle' it appears that the maximum duration is about 4secs20frames, 4:20. If you choose 'Stripe subtitle' the duration is about 8 seconds, 8:00.
If you want the durations to be longer, consider getting some of GeeThree's Slick volumes, some of whose titles can be placed for 30 seconds.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

UPDATE: I had 36 Safari windows open and minimized on the dock from my last session; 20 of those windows failed to open b/c Safari "couldn't find the server"; I just went to the URL bar of all 20 pages and clicked return, and all 20 pages loaded perfectly, without dropping any images or losing formatting. This is a puzzle!!!

I just tried adding 1024 weeks to a calendar instance set to January 6th, 1980, 00:00:00 (0:00 AM).
Calendar c = Calendar.newInstance();
c.set(1980, 01, 06, 00, 00, 00);
c.add(Calendar.WEEK_OF_YEAR, 1024);
System.out.println(c.getTime());The output is: Wed Sep 22 00:00:00 CEST 1999
Time zones is one thing (why is CEST listed and not CET, which will be listed when I add about 1450 weeks or so), but that's not the issue here. The issue is the month. According to my calendars, online calculators etc, 1024 weeks after that date and time should be on August 22nd of 1999.
Could this be a bug? Am I using the Calendar class incorrectly? How do I otherwise get the correct date (and time, if anyone can point me at hints how to consider the various leap-seconds that occur in UTC)?

You entered "01" for the month, expecting that mean "January". I believe you'll get the right answer if you enter Calendar.JANUARY for the month instead.
