Yes, you can sync from another computer. But since you have used your brother's Apple ID you will have to create your own Apple ID, so you cannot keep anything you've purchased on your brother's computer except apps.

Hi! I've had my iphone for several months and I would like to download the new IOS 5 but I am scared to hook it up to my laptop. When I first got this phone (verizon iphone 3G) I lost all of my or most of my contacts when I plugged it into my laptop. I don't want that to happen again. Yes, it is possible. I'd recommend you backup before you do anything else, if you use iCloud you can do this over the air that way, otherwise connect iPhone to your computer and iTunes and backup there first, just in case.
All done? Right, connect your iPhone to USB cable and charger and plug-in as if charging, not strictly necessary especially if your phone is at full charge, but it can take a while to download especially with demand at present.
Go to Settings->General->Software Update
You should see that iOS 7 is ready for download, follow prompts from here to download and install via Wifi.

Probably. Didn't try that myself, but once the download is going your iPhone should not need to remain connected.

If you don't use your phone and you don't use iTunes, what are you expecting to use? Your options to update your device are Over The Air through Settings>General>Software Update or by connecting the device to iTunes and updating.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Actually it's as smiple as plugging in the iPod and registering it, this will be done by a step by step dialog box when you first plug it in. After that it will show up in your device list on the left side. Just drag the song from the music library in iTunes to the iPod device that is his. You can drag single songs, complete albums or even complete genres. If it is a iTouch you get him, you can also click the music tab on the iTouch device in iTunes when you plug it in and you can just check off artist names or just certain albums. Also on a iTouch on the summary screen you can click the sync with iTouch over Wi-Fi check box and you will no longer have to plug it to the computer to sync. Also, since they are two different devices the music on one will not affect the music on another. This goes for any iOS device, iPods, iTouches, iPhones, and iPads.

If you mean you purchased more iCloud storage, that doesn't expand the amount of storage on your iPhone. iCloud storage only gives you more room for backups, documents, photo sharing, etc. You will still need to remove things from your iPad to give you enough room for the update. You'll need less room if you update via iTunes on your computer than if you update directly on the iPad.
BTW, you posted in the iPod touch forum. For many issues the answers will be the same, but it's usually best to post in the correct forum for your product so that there is no misunderstanding.
