I want to set up new I phone 5 with existing iTunes account instead of using I clowd. This is a replacement for a I phone 4 running 4.265

There is no requirement to use iCloud. Just turn it off in Settings.

I have not used iTunes for several weeks so the issue may not be related to the last Windows XP automatic upgrade. I have never had problems with iTunes in the past. Is this a real message or perhaps a virus?

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:

If you're running iOS 5 or later, go to Settings - General - Software update. (use wifi for this)

You can't update your iPad past iOS 5.1.1
Many iPad 1 owners reported slow downs with iOS 5.
Under the Settings app, General category under About, how much storage capacity does your iPad have left?
You could try a hard restart or reset by holding down the sleep/on-off button and home button simultaneously.
Once the screen goes black, wait about two seconds, then let both buttons go.
See if this changes anything.

This could be caused by a USB connection issue. Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the Mac using the USB cable it came with. Also, try disconnecting all other USB devices.

Hey... I just recently installed iTunes 7, and I can use the music store just fine. However, when I try to update my iPod to version 1.2, I receive and error stating:
"iTunes could not connect to the iPod update server because you are not connected to the internet.
Make sure your internet connection is active and try again."
I'm connected to the internet, and I can download from the music store with no problems. I've looked around in the options, and I don't see anything pertaining to connection. Can anyone help out with this?

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.
