Yes.
As long as your iPhone 5 was not running iOS 6.1.4, you can restore your iPhone 5 backup to your iPhone 4. Make sure your iPhone 4 is running iOS 6.1.3...update it first if not. If your iPhone 5 was running iOS 6.1.4, then you won't be able to restore that backup to your iPhone 4.

If you just bought the iPhone today, the first time you connect a new iPhone or iOS device to iTunes the first time that is used to sync with another iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iOS device to the new iOS device, or set up the new device as a new device.
Sounds like you did the former and if so, this did not include backing up the new iPhone first. All data on the iPhone was replaced with the backup for the iPod Touch. The data that was on the iPhone at that time is gone. -

As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates. The problem would be how to keep all the apps, etc from being deleted off the second and third phones that were originally loaded from the one iTunes acct. Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. My son and I both have iphones with the same Apple ID. Since I installed iOS this morning I have started receiving all my sons texts and when I send him a text it is delivered to both of us. How can I remove my phone from the joint Apple ID and remove myself from finding out what he is up to during Freshers week!

Select Apps in iTunes sidebar. A list of all your apps should be displayed in the main window. At bottom right of the window is a Check for updates button. Click on it, then click to download the updated apps. It's also possible that iTunes checked for updatedin the background, in which case the check button will already display how many updates you have.

I have lost my iphone, checked on the computer, and somehow, took it away so how do i get it back??If you are saying that after signing into iCloud it is telling you device is not found, it could be for any number of reasons. If the battery is dead, if the SIM has been removed, or if someone else has the phone and they have restored it, it will not be shown. Also, if you located it once and then sent a remote wipe, it disables the abililty to locate the phone with Find My iPhone.

I am using latest version of iOS (5.0.1) and iPhone 4.
My question is stated in the title. I wish to sync iTunes according to my current iPhone settings (i.e. backup my current settings from my iPhone to iTunes), not reinstall apps which I have already deleted.
But when I "sync" my iphone with iTunes, apps which I deleted since the previous backup suddenly appeared in my iPhone.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.When you sync your phone check the Apps tab in your iTunes sync settings (not the Apps folder under Library on the left sidebar) and confirm that the apps you don't want on your phone are unchecked prior to syncing.

All apps and purchases are linked to your apple ID, so you can't share them across 2 devices that are using different apple id's, it won't work. the purchases that are on your mac at the moment will only work with the apple id they were brought with.
the only thing thats possible to share is purchased music. you have to first covert it to mp3 within itunes, then your bf can import it into his own itunes library and sync with his phone. -

Take a look at the video Illaass pointed to, it shows what you'll have to do. If you've never poked inside the innards of a computer before, it looks a bit scary but its pretty easy to do if you view the video a couple times and take it slowly. But I honestly have to say it is closer to a moderate task than an easy task so you may want to take den.thed's advice and find an independant Apple service provider. You won't get this done at an Apple store.
Another possibility is to get an SSD in a thunderbolt or USB3 enclosure. It won't be quite as fast as if it were installed internally but you won't lose much and if you decide against doing the upgrade yourself it will probably be less expensive than going to an AASP. -

Be sure you've turned off any antivirus, spyware, malware type software. Then try [Unable to update or restore|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808]. Hopefully that will work, or you'll get more specific error messages which [this kb|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275] can help interpret.
