HT4623 Can't find the software update in my setting

Can't find the software update in my setting

Software Update from the iPad came with iOS 5. If you still have iOS 4 on your iPad, you will need to connect the iPad to iTunes on a computer to get the iPad updated to iOS 5 (or shortly iOS 6). Once you have iOS 5 or later, you can then perform future updates directly from the iPad, though if you don't use iCloud to make backups, I still recommend updating through your computer so you get a backup there.
Regards.

Where can I find the software update option for iOS 5 on air update on iPad2. Not able to find it in current settings menu

If it's not available within Settings->General->Update, have patience. The Apple servers in your area don't have it for your region yet.

You update through iTunes if you have iOS 4. If you have iOS 5 then tap Settings > General > Software Update.

  • I can't find the software update button on my iPhone 4

I can't find the software update button on my iPhone 4, it's missing. I went to settings> general>the there was no software update button! How can I get it back????

iTunes, you must Update or Restore the Firmware to iOS 5.1.1 the first time (to system 5) with iTunes. After that you can update via the Air.

  • HT4623 I can not find the "software update" option

I tried to update my iPad from iTunes they are instructions indicating to pursue them as follow settings than general than update software
I can not find the last one? Is there any solution?

Scroll down in the HT4623 article you attached to the "Update your device using iTunes" section.
You must not have yet installed iOS 5 on your iPad, so there is no "Software Update" button.

  • I'm trying to update my iphone 4s but can't find the "software update" option on my phone.

In all of the instructions it indicates to go to settings, general, and then software updates.  When I go to settings, and then general.....there is no software update option for me after that.  Any idea as to where that would be?  I've never "updated".

See the "Update your device using iTunes" section in:

  • I have recently downloaded OS X lion and I want to upgrade iPhoto to use with iCloud. I can't find the software update anywhere where can I get this?

I have recently downloaded IOS X Lion and I want to upgrade Iphoto to use with ICloud, I can't see the upgraded anywhere on the computer in system updates or on APP store updates. Where can I find this?

If you have lion and iPhoto '11 (latest version is 9.2.1) you can set up and turn on iCloud there and if you have IOS 5 on your mobile then your mobile devices will sync with your Mac
If this does not cover what you need please describe your situation in more detail

  • HT4623 i cant find the software update option in between about and usage?

Hello am useing a Apple i phone 3GS , i want to upgrade the option from 4.2 to any new versions? plz support me to get it

If you have a 3GS, follow the instructions in the article from which your question was posted.  If you have upgraded to iTunes 11, it does look different from the instructions in the article, but it is still on the same screen and very obvious if there is an upgrade available.  It will also show what model iPhone you actually have.
Most likely you do not have a 3GS but instead a 3G.

Keep in mind, iOS 4.2.1 is the end of the line for the 3G.

Under About, what version do you have? The Software Update option in Settings was not introduced until iOS 5.0.

Go to Settings > General > About and see what iOS version you are running.  If it is lower than 5, you won't find the software update button.  It was added when iOS 5 came out.  The current iOS is 5.1.1.  To update to the current OS, you'll need to connect to the computer you sync with (this is important - do not connect to a computer you do not sync with as you will lose you apps) and update the software in iTunes.  Once you have updated to the 5.1.1, the software update button will be in Settings going forward.  Make sure you have a lot of time.  Updating from below 5 to 5 or higher is a somewhat lengthy process.
