HT4623 Cant fine the update software on my iPhone

I don't have the software up date on my iPhone4. Where can I locate it?

Your profile says that you have iOS 5 on your device. If so, the ability to update software OTA should be located in Settings>General>Software Update. If you do not have iOS 5 or above, that will not be there. You will have to connect the phone to iTunes and the computer and update it that way. Once you have updated it, then you will see the OTA update choice and will be able to do future updates that way.

  • HT4623 where is the 'Update Software' button on iPhone 3?

Having found the page for software updates on apple info pages,
but where is the 'Update Software' button on an iPhone 3, then?

There isn't one on the iPhone 3G. That model can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1, & OTA updates require iOS 5.0 or higher.
You have to update an iPhone 3G using iTunes.

  • Can someone help I have a Ipad 1 and cant see the update software in settings I dont have this line.

    Dear Sir
I hae a ipad 1 and cant upgrade because I cant find the line in settings (upagrade software).

What version of iOS is presently on your iPad? If it is a version of 4 or below you should use the computer that you normally sync with. Start iTunes on that computer and use the menu to check for updates. If there is an update for iTunes download and install it. Then start iTunes and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in the left column of itunes on your computer and select General at the top of the right column. Look for updates and follow the prompts to install iOS 5.1.

The feature you are looking for is available with iOS 5 or later. You will need to update your iPhone with iTunes on a Mac or PC.

  • HT4623 i just update software in my iphone 3gs but at the end its not activating my iphone

i have updated software in my iphone 3gs by plugging wire with my laptop but at the end its not activating so, i just want to know how can i activate software update 6.1.2 on my iphone 3gs

Your iPhone was not officially unlocked and has now relocked to the original cell carrier. Call AppleCare, give them the model and serial number of your iPhone and find out which cell carrier it is locked with. Next contact that cell carrier and see what their unlock process is and if you qualify.

  • HT4623 Now that iOS is consistently being updated.  Will the 1st Generation IPad be stuck with IOS 5?  Eventually my IPad will be good for nothing as Apps start requiring the updated software.

The iPad 1 can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1. This is unlikely to change.
The apps you have will continue to work and there are still many apps which run on iOS 5 (or even earlier iOS levels).

  • I have the IPhone 4 , after updating the software to version 5.0 , i can't edit my contacts, is it only from my device or the updated software should be adjusted?

I have the IPhone 4 , after updating the software to version 5.0 , i can't edit my contacts anymore(the button edit doesn't exist anymore), is it only from my device or the updated software should be adjusted?

That's exactly right.  And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes).  In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored.  That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos.  But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine!  Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there.  They will be safe there.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
iPad Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Update Software button is available in iOS 5 and later iOSs.
Currently, you need to take the iTunes route.
    Don't forget to backup.

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • Sorry but I think this wrong, I know that in Colombia there and two of the three operators already have 4G/LTE networks, what happens is that the iPhone should be expected to send the update software for computers that have this tercnologia activate them,

sorry but I think this wrong, I know that in Colombia there and two of the three operators already have 4G/LTE networks, what happens is that the iPhone should be expected to send the update software for computers that have this tercnologia activate them, that my Iphone or receiving 5 supports 4G LTE,
    Thank you for your attention

Apple needs to test the carrier if they offer LTE as expected.
If your country/carrier is not on the list then there's no LTE on your iPhone.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
It's between the your carrier and Apple. There's nothing you can do except feedback to Apple:

  • I have updated to the newest software on my iphone 5 but still have the red notification circle on the settings app.  How do I get rid of it?

I have updated to the newest software on my iphone 5 but still have the red notification circle on the settings app.  How do I get rid of it?  TIA for help.

OK, a couple questions for you.  You say you have "the latest" iOS update installed on your iPhone, but you don't mention what version that is.  Would you please tell us what the version number is for your iPOS installation?  Also, you have the "banner" on your Settings App, but is the banner for in iOS update, or is it for something else?  Do you have a new provile, or an expiring profile, or possibly Notifications that may be triggering that?

  • HT4623 problem after installing update software.

why when i start to install the update software ver. 7.0.5, at the end on my screen only appears itune icon?

If you have the iTunes icon and a cable on-screen then that indicates that the iPad has gone into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you will need to connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and you should then be able to reset it and restore/resync your content to it
