HT4623 Constantly losing cellular service!

Using Iphone 5C and constantly losing cellular service.  Just had new sim card installed this morning and still having issues.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Phone is brand new.

Hello jdoersom,
Congratulations on your new iPhone 5c, and thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with cellular service.  You have already taken some good troubleshooting steps to address the issue, and I recommend continuing with the following steps (you can skip any steps you have already taken):
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrierto report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPhone as new.
Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.

  • IPad 2 lost cellular service after upgrade to iOS 8.1

    Device: iPad 2 Model A1397 16GB
My cellular service worked fine prior to the upgrade to iOS 8.1. After completing the upgrade, my cellular connection always says "Searching..." and never finds service. I have tried restoring iOS 8.1 through iTunes, but end up with the same results. I'm new to upgrading apple devices, so I didn't create a backup of my OS prior to upgrading. With Apple not signing iOS 7.1.2 anymore for my device, I'm in a bit of a pickle and cannot revert back. Any suggestions?

Make sure ringer is on and volume is up.

    Hi,
Hope I am not adding to the confusion.
If unused ftexecs is the problem, look at technote no. 11435 - "Sample code
to automate shutting down idle FTEXEC interpreters" .
You can alsomanually kill them (rather shut them down) from EConsole.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi-
I don't know if this will shed any light on your problem, but I can relate
to you one circumstance that we had on our server in the development
environment. When you have a process such as a service object that crashes,
it will sometimes leave an ftexec hanging. Each of these "dead" ftexec's
seem to tie up a certain amount of memory and will not let go. If something
like that was going on and went unchecked, I could well imagine that it
would eventually bring NT to its knees.
If you are running the forte environment as an NT service, you can see this
by running the task manager. (ctrl+alt+delete, then click the task manager
button, then select the processes tab.) If you see a lot of ftexec's
listed, you may have something similar occurring. Even though the Task
Manager may report little or no memory allocated to them, somehow it is tied
up somewhere. For grins, try this: Bring up the task manager, and then
stop the Forte environment. Watch what happens to your memory utilization
as each of the dead processes goes away.
Unfortunately, if this is your problem, I do not have a solution for you,
but maybe someone else does. This was one of those things that I made a
mental note that I need to figure out someday, but it was not causing us a
serious problem, so the resolution was not a high priority. We were
training several new developers at the time, and they were fairly green at
both Forte and SQL, so I think they had a lot of dbsession objects crashing.
In our case, it was sufficient to restart the Forte environment if
performance started to degrade. And as the developers got better at SQL and
at catching exceptions, we had fewer instances of dead objects to deal with.
However, if anyone knows how to resolve or prevent this problem, I would
certainly be interested in hearing the solution.

We are hoping that someone have ran into the same problem and can shed some
light on any work around to resolve it. The problem that we are
encountering is that the NT Server's performance degrade to a point where
we physically can't sign on to the box itself. When someone sits at the
terminal and tries to sign on, the person would see a blue screen and
that's it. The only thing that is running on that box is Forte' runtime,
pcAnyWhere, and SQL Server. Once the NT server get to this point, all we
can do is reboot the box. The key indicator that NT is dying is our
application will start to malfunction and various files transfer would fail.
Does anyone have an application running with NT, if you do we would love to
have a conversation concerning this situation. We would appreciate any
    advice on this matter.

  • CAN I RECEIVE MESSAGE FROM MY CELLULAR SERVICE PROVIDER IN MY iPAD MINI CELLULAR ?

Can I receive message from my cellular service provider in my iPad mini cellular?

    I Picked This Username wrote:
    Be aware though..
If you send an iMessage to an iPhone that isn't using WiFi, they will be charged for receiving the message..
The same goes with the iPad sending the message: if you are not using WiFi..
That is incorrect. No cell carrier charges for a message sent by and received by iMessage other than any relevant data charges. The carrier doesn't even know the message is any different from an email message or any other standard Internet traffic. Only if the iPhone was not set up to iMessage and hence receives the message via SMS would there perhaps be a charge, and that will depend on the cell plan. The iPad cannot receive messages via SMS at all so there will never be a charge.

Grrrrr.....makes me miss my stupid PC set up as I could force it to do what I want!
Intermittent connection screws up Netflix, VOIP phone, Amazon, Streaming music via Spotify/Pandora, general internet access.....whole family is ****** off.
    Any tips/tricks/ideas???
    dave

Downgrade firmware to 7.6.1 .. as the latest is just lousy.
It is easy to downgrade.. hold down the option key whilst you click the version number. in Macs.. lots of stuff is hidden behind an option key.
I also strongly recommend a factory reset and use all SMB names.. not apple type names..
    ie TC name.. TCgen4
Wireless name TCwifi (or give names to both bands.. TC24ghz and TC5ghz).
That helps all the non-apple part of the world.. connect.
Also Mavericks has now changed over to SMB as well. So even Mac is now windows networking.
Generally these two things. .7.6.1 firmware and SMB names will fix it.. if not post again as is another step that is possible.. controlling the WAN speed of the TC.

Planning to buy iPad Mini with Cellular in US with TMobile Carrier. Is this unlocked? can i use my iPad in India with there cellular service??

That will depend on how you buy the iPad.
If you buy it from an Apple Store directly at full price it will be unlocked, and can take a sim card from any compatible GSM carrier.
If you buy it directly from T-Mobile under a subsidy(at a discount price tied to a service contract)  Then it may be locked to T-Mobile for at least 40 days of service with them.

  • Re: Losing NT Services

    Tran,
Forte is a powerful tool which, while it protects you from some issues,
does not fully insulate you from writing code that can peg out a
    machine.
So, for example, it would be a simple 10 line or so Forte program which
could issue 'start task' statements inside an infinite loop which would
then soon max out the available threads on a machine. I could write
that same program in C, perl, or any other environment. I'm not saying
that you wrote such a program, just that by writing it in Forte doesn't
mean that "forte" is degrading the system - the program is degrading the
    machine.
Forte does not allow you to ignore and overcome finite resources on a
machine (i-nodes, threads, processes, memory, disk space, etc). And
this problem sounds like its related to the consumption of system
    resources.
I'm not just pointing the finger back at you, rather I'm suggesting that
for the forum to be able to help you it is important for you to describe
some more detail about what the forte system is doing. Is it a
development server? an application Server? How many partitions are
running on the box, and most importantly, what are they trying to do?
These are the same questions that would be asked of you if you wrote
your application in C++ or powerbuilder (gasp!) or whatever.
Is the file transfer a part of your application's functionality?
Have you tried running the performance monitor to watch things like
available memory, disk activity, process count, etc?
We have been working with Forte on NT for some time now, and while there
are issues, what you describe has not been our general experience. We
have, however, managed to peg out NT machines in specific situations.
    -John

  • Can I add cellular service on an iPad that only has wifi?

i want to add cellular service to an iPad I originally bought with just wifi. Is that possible?

You can't add it to the 'guts' of the iPad. It's a sealed system.
What you can do is go for a device like a Mifi. It's a battery operated portable wifi hotspot that you can then connect your ipad to.
I believe that every major provider has their version of the device so look for hte provider that offers you the best options and go from there.

  • Insert ATT sim card in Iphone 5 = automatically connects to cellular service?

    Hi folks,
I just bought an unlocked Iphone 5 a few weeks ago. I'm using it perfectly except I don't have a nano sim inserted. I have AT&T. I had a Samsung before buying the Iphone 5 and I blocked the internet access through cellular service on the Samsung. I was wondering if I buy a nano sim (using my old number) and insert it in my Iphone 5, would it automatically register me to a data plan? Would it automatically connects to the internet through cellular service even though I've never signed up for it? Yes I only want to use the Wifi on my Iphone. I do not want to pay extra money for the data plan. Keep in mind that my Iphone is unlocked already. I heard my friends saying that if you use an ATT sim on an Iphone, it will force you to use internet through the cellular service. Is that true?
Thank you for reading my question.

That is true, AT&T does not allow the use of smartphones without a data plan on their network. Unlocking has nothing to do with this and I'm wondering why someone would pay that much money for a phone they are not going to use.
