Do i need this new update to my IPHONE 3GS? as not enough space - iv deleted all the stuff i no longer need but still short.
Well, you don't absolutely have to have it ... but ...
First of all, here's what you would be missing (I assume you're talking about upgrading from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6):

Secondly, as additional upgrades become available, you'll fall farther and farther behind.
Thirdly, as apps are updated, you may lose out on the ability to run them, and you will lose out on added features.
So, it's not mandatory that you upgrade, but I strongly suggest striving to do so.

I tried to update my IPhone 4 last night thru ITunes and got and error when almose done 9006. It says in the nes that you have to do it thru wifi but do not have wifi and so I synced it with my computer and said I have the new update down now and selected yes and it startedto do it then stopped 3 times with error 9006? I assume you have actually installed Microsoft Apps..
In order to remove Microsoft Apps, you need to follow the same steps as you would removing most of applications.
From the main menu: Settings > Installations > Already installed > Microsoft Apps (long tap) > Remove
Please note that the installation of Microsoft Apps would have updated some core components, and as such those cannot be removed. You might therefore notice the amount of free space on the C: drive is not the same as what you started.
If you want to start from scratch you can either flash your device, or reset it to factory settings which would put your device into shipping conditions. Before doing down this road, I would suggest you back up all your data that you want to keep with Nokia Suite, such as contacts, messages, pictures etc..

Hello. I recently updated numbers on my macbook pro. I like the auto completion feature (proposing te word as I type). With this new update, I cannot see this feature and it doesn't work automatically. Can I have any help on this issue ?
This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

This new update for the iPhone has me troubled. Nowhere did I see where it was only good for 3GS,4S and or 5 or all. Is this update also good for the 3GS? I'm reading people are having trouble.
iOS 6 can be loaded without problem on the 3GS. Not all features are supported however.
With respect to your reading people are having trouble, what did you expect to see on this technical support forum? People don't write in to state they have a trouble-free upgrade. -

Thats a hard question to answer. The iPhone 4 has older technology than newer models which can cause the device to lag. Depending on what data and settings you have on the device, it could run slower. I would probably make sure to constantly close apps in multitasking and possible think about restoring the device as a new device. Make sure to backup your data prior to the restore

I have used Pages 09 and Keynote without any major problems until this new update. I have read many of the fixes but have a problem. When you get Pages 09 and Keynote back, Apples continues to want to update the 09 system. So it stays updated. I have had to turn off my auto updating that was nice but I'll do it one at a time in order to keep the Pages 09 and Keynote. When something works don't mess with it. Any fixes out there?
I can't say that I have had a problem playing videos in Flash because I could always play them in browsers other than Firefox.
In Firefox Tools>options>Advanced Hardware acceleration is turned on.
I don't know if that is different that tuning it off and on in Flash or not, but for now it is a moot point.
As I stated in my previous message, after following all earlier suggestions/instructions nothing helped. But The latest one, someone suggested that maybe version 17 of Flash might be a stable version.
I made no other changes except to install it, a few days ago, and so far so good.

Just updated to new iOS 6 on iPhone 3G. Get 'can't connect to iTunes' message. Tried the setting date and time trick but still no success. Any suggestions for 3G iPhone?
also must mention i have never had trouble that i couldn't fix on itunes but all of this has started since i have been using icloud for basic backups hope this helps solve problem

After updating my iPod 4 and my iPhone 3gs to 5.1 it keeps turning itself off whenever I'm trying to load a larger web-page, or doing some hard operations. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Have yu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -
I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. It spent time underwater, saltwater. I let it dry for a week, turned it on, the apple symbol came on, then it died. I need to retrieve my photos off it. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help
You're talking about the logic board. The two most likely things to get toasted, with water damage, are the battery(it shorts out), & the logic board. The worst water damage would be salt water. I'm afraid your logic board is toast.

Since there is no "Software Update", you are not yet up to iOS 5. That is where that feature was introduced.
So your only choice is to use iTunes to update your software. -
Hello,
I needed to do a hard reset on my iPhone 3GS and it's taking me too much time. It's taking almost 3 hours by now!!!!
I did it by going to "Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings", confirm it and then the iPhone turns off, gets the screen black with only the animated circle going on. And it's been there since then.
Is this a symptom of something bad? Should I do the hard reset by another way?Hello Ali Syed,
It sounds like your phone is stuck at the spinning gear icon on the screen after Erasing all Content and Settings on your device. I would start by resetting the device with this process:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
