HT4623 Dust inside the screen of my ipad

"What I have going to do? My ipad has a dust inside the screen.." :(

If it's still covered by Apple's warranty, Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • How to clean the dust inside the screen of the iPod Touch?

    Hi everybody,
lately some dust entered inside the screen of my iPod Touch.
At first it looked like one or two pixels were gone bad, but it is just some annoying dust.
The problem is that I cannot figure out any way to remove it.
I tried a gentle blow from the connector hole but the result was worse.
Any idea on how to clean the screen inside?
I hope it is not necessary to go to an Apple Center and pay for the "cleaning service".
    Regards,
    Andrea

    It sounds safe to use
'Falcon's® "Professional" Dust-Off® "XL" compressed-gas is the perfect product for removing dust from your color transparencies before making scans or copy slides; it's also great for removing dust from cameras, lenses, computers and other electronic equipment. Each 12 oz. disposable can comes with its own trigger value and a 4.75" nozzle extension (a red tube) that allows you to place precise bursts of compressed air just where you want it.'
Check the directions on the back... also check the contents. Normally anything like that will inform you of contaminants harmful to delicate electrical devices.
If its just compressed air make sure you keep the can well back from the source.. and unplug the G5 (take it somewhere you don't mind dust.. there no point doing this in situe, just for it to suck it back in again!)
Also.. as mentioned.. keep the can upright (as the air is decompressed the can gets very cold)

  • Dust inside the screen of my Qosmio G20-136

    Hi,
I have a weird problem on my Qosmio G20-136, there are 2 spots of dust inside, and recently a very small insect manages to get between the LCD on the protective sheet. I can assure you I though I was mad watching the insect moving without being able to do anything.
Am I the only one with such issue ? How can I contact TOSHIBA, to understand what's wrong with the isolation of the laptop ? The laptop is only moving in the flat !
I try to get contact with Toshiba FR, but all the answers I have is a expensive phone number. For the price of such a PC, they could at least provide email or chat support !
Is someone from Toshiba is reading, I would appreciate to get a contact.
    email : toshiba AT tykhan.net

Yes, that would be the best, contact a local servicepartner and let them check your machine because its sensless to shout here while doing nothing.
Just check this link to find the nearest authorized service partner:

Hope they will fix your problem.

If another person or company serviced your iPad, your warranty has been voided.  Apple will do an out-of-warranty exchange.  Have you contacted the original service provider, and complained?

  • I have the same case with you an iPad Air in dead pixel or speckle silver dust on screen.  It is been 3 months I bought in Avant Abenson in Greenbelt Makati Philippines. Today I decided to change my screen protector film but the speckle dust on the screen

Speckles dust on the screen and it cannot be removed today when I decided to change the screen protector film and noticed is not my fault it is a factory defect on screen it is either dead pixel or speckle dust on screen they are so many said and experience I have read.  So I need the replacement a new one for that dismayed screen on my iPad Air. I bought this 3 months ago in Avant Abenson at Greenbelt Makati Philippines.  I need the replacement for tomorrow I will go to the store I bought.  I love apple products but they need to replace and make go round to improve some defects and cannot be more escalate with this issue of the many of patronizing your products.  It is sometimes irritating to the eyes and seen dirt on the screen.  Thank you apple customer service to bringing up my complaints and a replacement for tomorrow's to inform the store I bought and advise them here in the Philippines to facilitate in regards to this matter.

I wanted to buy an ipad air to replace my ipad 2 but the one I wanted was (luckily) sold out.
Yesterday I tested the air from a collegue and I noticed the screen was SUBSTANTIALLY less sensitive than the screen of my ipad 2 when using my stylus.
I use Stylus R US especially for I annotate and with the air this did not work well at all... Half of the time there was no contact registered so underying certain parts of the text was a disaster...
Just working with the finger all whent OK... Just fear that another app I use a lot (notes +) will have same problem.
On the Ipad 4 also retina all goes *** smooth as on my ipad 2...
Is this a fault of a specific ipad air series? Or is this normal?? If it is I think this is truelly a huge flaw and I cannot see how not manny people using the ipad for notetaking etc did not notice this...

  • Dust Particles inside the Screen of my iPhone!! Help?

Hello my name is John and well I have one problem. I am starting to get DUST PARTICLES inside the screen of my iPhone!! At first I wasn't bothered much but then the amount increased, and well now, when in sunlight, it is starting to get annoying! Any suggestions on how to free my iPhone of dust particles? Anyone????

I have gone to BOTH Apple and AT&T and they have said that they cannot do anything about it, AT&T said that they didn't know, and said to take it to Apple, and Apple said, "you can try compressed air to see if you can get it out".

  • Did any buy a 4th generation iPad with speck(s) of dust under the screen?

Purchased my first iPad at a local apple store on launch day, noticed a speck of dust under the screen. Had it exchanged and then found another speck of dust under the screen once again. Went back and wanted another exchange, apple store employees were nice enough to allow me to open two additional iPad. I did a thorough check of each and noticed dust under the screen on both. Wasn't allowed to open anymore iPads so, I was given the option to exchange mine or return it. I decided to keep mine as there was only one speck of dust under the screen. Has this happened to anyone so far?

I wanted to upgrade to the iPad 4th generation as well.  I have been through four (4) of them.  ALL FOUR (4) had readily visible dust under the glass.  Three were from the Apple store here in Santa Barbara, and one was from the Apple store in Santa Monica.....so not all from the exact same shipment, although possible all came from the same batch at the factory.
There is fine white dust all offer the interior packaging materials when you open these up....which is not a problem....but then there is always a speck or two of white dust UNDER the glass.  This is totally unacceptable for a high-end product that costs $700+ from accompany that goes on and on about how exceptionally high their quality control standards are.
The Apple store staff have been fantastic to deal with throughout this.  It is proof Apple stands behind their products and claims of high quality.  However, the fact that four out of four brand new iPads had the same defect (immediately seen by two techs at the Apple Store in every case) indicates the standards are sliding...at least at the factory.
The fact that I received four out of four iPads with this defect doesn't mean I am unlucky....it likely indicates that thousands of these shipped to North America...or at least California....have this defect.  I just noticed it.
And anyone who says "that's just how all iPads are" is wrong.  I am typing this post on my iPad Generation 3 that came out of the box with no dust under the glass.
This is a major quality control issue with the new iPad 4 and Apple needs to address it.

  • Can I get my iPad cleaned from dust under the screen at the Apple Store?

I have an iPad that I have purchased early last year. My warranty on the iPad is up and I have realized there is dust under the screen. There is a newly built Apple Store at a mall in my city. I am wondering if I could visit the store and request a technician to open my iPad and clean the screen, if it's possible they can do that. If I can, will there be a fee? If not, what other things can I do?

No, they will not be able to clean it at the store. They will likely only be able to offer a replacement at a substantial cost (if that). Based on what you have described, unless you are far wealthier than me, you get to live with it.

  • Pearl has dust behind the screen

I dont know how it happened, but my pearl has dust behind the screen. Does anyone
know how to remove the screen so I can clean it.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Joe, If the phone is out of warrantee and/or do don't want to go through the enormous hassle of replacing your blackberry there is another alternative. I have done this several times myself but I would recommend that you be mechanically inclined. Although the surgery is very easy some blackberry models have retention clips that need to be pushed aside with a very smal screw driver like one you would buy for repairing sunglasses etc. I do not have a pearl so I am not much help giving you specifics about that particular phone..
Go to ebay and look for cellular phone repair tools. There are dozens of sellers, just look for a Torx kit. Inside the battery compartment you will find four torx screws that you will need to remove. Once they are removed the back of the phone pops off. Depending on your model the phones sometimes come apart in layers (like the 8700). So after the first layer you may need to remove more torx screws to get inside to the screen. Be careful when splitting the phone apart as small pieces will be loose inside like the volume and push to talk buttons. You will need to careful put these back in place when re-assembling the phone. Once the phone is split apart you should easily be able to clean the screen and the inside from dust. Just use an old tooth brush.
Although this whole procedure is not overly difficult for me, it is not for everyone. So please proceed with caution and under your own risk.
On another note this is the same procedure if your phone ever get water damage. I have a neighbor that thought it was hilarious to throw people into the pool during a drunkin haze (thankfully he stopped drinking...). Twice he did it to me with my phone still firmly attached to my waist. After doing a terrific impression of a Marlin trying to shake a fisherman's hook my phone still had water pouring from it and vibrating like crazy. I immediately took out the battery and took the phone completely apart. I then set all the parts EXCEPT THE LCD and the CLEAR PLASTIC WINDOW on a cookie sheet.  All you are trying to do is dry the electronics. Cell phones are all rated for fairly high temperatures  in case you were to leave it in the car on a hot summer afternoon. I then set the oven to preheat at 150 degrees. Once it was preheated I turned the oven off and let sit for a minute with the door cracked. Then I put the cookie sheet into the oven and closed the door. I let it sit until the oven had completely cooled down. Re-assembled the phone and presto it worked just fine until the next time he threw me in. If you want to be completely safe you can put the unassembled phone on your car dash which works as well. So long as there is little humidity and good amount of heat but not above 200 degrees.
    Good luck...

  • Debris inside the glass of new iPad

I found some foreign particle inside the screen of my new iPad, got it replaced and it had the same problem. gave it to service centre for replacement, the replacement piece also had the same problem.
now waiting for my 3rd replacement. what happened to apple's quality? anybody else who shares same experience?

What color is it? ususally that have more issues with white devices then black, from what ive heard
if it doesnt get fixed the 3rd time i would suggest asking for a senior advisor if you call in to the support line because they'll be able to do something about it more then the other advisors

  • Why does the screen on my iPad mini jump around?  Apps open and close, I can't get back to the home screen.  Is my mini possessed?

Why does the screen on my iPad mini start jumping--larger, smaller--can't close apps.  I reboot and still it happens.  Any suggestions?

If the unit has NEVER been jailbroke, first try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...  Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
