im having a similiar problem but my iphone 4s is stuck in the recovery mode.. like every time i restore the phone to factory setting it redownloads the firmware but nothing changes. any ideas?

My "iTunes has stopped working" keeps popping up every time I try to open it up, I don't know what to do, cause I can't get to my Library

I recently reinstalled my iTunes, and it was working fine, but now everytime I try to open it up, the message "iTunes has stopped working" and it shuts down. I have uninstalled it, and reinstalled it many times. I donl't know what to do. If someone could help me that would be great, thanks!

when i try to sync my music which i have on my PC's itunes it will just not transfere on the phone. everything will sync [apps, videos, contacts] but the music will just not transfere.
and when i try to download the music from the phone's itunes store it will say "Error. Tap again to retry".

I think that you must have added iOS 5.1.1 after I answered you. You close apps a totally different way in iOS 5. Double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking tray at the bottom. Then hold down on th app icon that you want to close until it wiggles. Then tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close it. Tap the home button twice when you are done to get back to the home screen.
Anyway...you said that the apps take you back to the desktop page which I assumed was the home screen. If that's what happens, the app is crashing on you. If you are now saying that the app opens but it doesn't do anything. You could delete it and download it again. Since its a game, all of your progress will be lost if you delete the game. You should backup the iPad before you delete the game so that you can restore the backup that contains the game progress.
Before you do anything else, you should clarify your situation by posting back with more details. Is this just one app doing this or all apps that will not respond? If all third party apps are doing this, try downloading another app. Any free app will work for this purpose.

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.

That link takes you to the Facebook for iPhone app.
You have posted in the Mac App Store for Mac OS X. (I know it's somewhat confusing especially with the new forum format).
Try deleting the Facebook app from the iPhone by pressing down on the app on the iPhone until it jiggles then tap the circle with an x in it. Then tap the Home button to stop all the apps from jiggling.
Now tap the App Store icon and and re download the Facebook app again.

First try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion, Mt. Lion or Mavericks delete the contents the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto, reset iPhoto's preferences and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
Next, if necessary, continue with the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
