HT4623 Help - new iOS requires pass code to access iPhone, never had one
Updated my iPhone 5 with iOS 7 yesterday, never had used a 4 digit pass code to access the phone. Now, cannot open the phone to use as I don't have any pass code. What should I do to fix this? Synch to computer and lose data? Go back to using a land line?

There's no default password.
Connect your iPad to iTune (computer) and do a restore.

I have installed ios7 on my iPad 4. After installation it asked me a pass code which I have never set. After multiple attempts it is disabled. I don't have backup on my iCloud or iTunes. Is there anyone who can help to enable it or to reverse iPad to ios6. I asked Apple store & tech said to format it but I will lose all the data..!
Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

So when you plug it into your computer, you're not getting a message in iTunes that it has discovered a phone in recovery mode?
Reboot both the computer and the phone and try again. -

Why is it asking me for a pass code and I didn't set one up. This never happen before when I updated to the most recent IOS on my Ipad2?
It is most likely asking for your Apple ID password, but that is just a guess.
Then again as KarenSelena says if someone set a passcode without actually telling you (maybe a Settings -> General -> Restrictions passcode), that might be why you are getting a passcode request. -
Forget iPhone password, when connect to computer "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a pass code. You must enter pass code on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
You have to restore it using a computer with iTunes per the knowledge base article above.
With iOS 7, if you have Find My Phone turned on you can login to iCloud from a computer and send an erase signal to the iPhone to clear it...that will erase all content and settings. -
Since I upgraded to the new iOS 7 operating system for my iphone, I can no longer adjust the volume on my alarm. No matter what setting the volume of my phone is my alarm is always full blast. Since I hate being startled awake, what can I do?
Go to your home screen, and then press the volume down or up button. It should say Ringer instead of volume. If it doesn't do that, try going into the clock app and try it there.

Check to make sure you are not being asked to set up a pass code. Look for a very small Skip button. If the Skip button is there you are being asked to create a passcode. Either enter the four digits you want to use (and remember them) or tap on Skip.
