Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo. -

You need iTunes version 11 for iOS 7.
iTunes version 11 requires OS X 10.6.8 or later...

You are trying to restore from a backup. You need to search on how to put the phone into DFU mode to restore it without using the password. Google is your friend there.

If your phone is disabled because you entered the wrong passcode too many times, you will have to restore it to remove the passcode (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414). If you have iOS 7, you will have to force it into recovery mode in order to restore it (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808).

My iPad won't let me sign into my Apple ID when I try and download an app it asks for my id and password and when i type it in the iPad displays a message saying cannot connect to iTunes Store. However when i do this on my phone it works perfectly. Even when i sign in and out.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how can I fix this?Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections. -

The only way out of Recovery mode is to connect to iTunes and restore. If you cannot access the computer you normally sync with, you will lose all of your content, unless you sync to iCloud. With no backup present, your content will be lost.

I dropped my iPhone 4 in the toilet about a month ago and it stopped working, i put it in rice and left it. I went to try and turn it on today and it worked, but it says "iPhone disabled, connect to iTunes" so I connected it to iTunes and it says "to allow access, please respond on your iPhone" but my iPhone won't let me have access unless it's connected to iTunes. Lose lose. It may be because the computer that my phone is backed up to is in another country. Please help if anyone has any answers. TYConnect to iTunes on computer and enter Recovery Mode. Here are easy steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. The songs on my Ipod Classic wont play at all although you can feel and hear the machinery working hard. The tracks are not playng at all but you can see the Ipod rewinding them all and returning to the album. And this happens to the second IPOD I just got!
First off, I would STRONGLY suggest that a external hard drive would make you life much easier by at least being able to back up your songs on the external drive for when you need them. Even if you don't want them in the iTunes library, you can have them all ready on the external to be re-added as needed. You can get 100's of gigs for under $100 shipped.
Anyway, since you used Yamipod, are all the songs back on the computer? If so, I would go ahead and restore the iPod, let iTunes then resync everything back to the iPod, then switch it back to manual and see if the restore and resync clears up the issue.
