how do you delete photos from ipad!

Deleting Photos from iPad: Faced withthis problem, I looked for and found that a few other people werealso worried about it. I use Windows XP Professional and have an iPad2 (16GB).
Deleting photos from the iPad turnedout to be quite easy after I connected the iPad to the PC with theUSB Cable. Using My Computer (in Windows Explorer) on the PC, I founda graphic showing a camera and a PC after clicking on the iPad 2. Allthe photos and videos in the iPad (not resident in any special apps)were displayed. Just to be safe, I first copied all photos, and videoclips, from iPad to a specially created folder on the PC. After thatit was easy to select all files on the iPad with CtlA and deletethem. I could have deselected any of them by Ctl and left click, if Ihad wanted to retain any on them on my iPad.
Earlier I had downloaded a PhotoTransfer app. This did not help in deleting but was nice for WiFitransfers of photos, especially between the iPad and the iPod. But Inow see better options for the same $2.99 price.
The app I would recommend is PhotoManager Pro by Linkus. It promises to do every action you may needrelated to handling photos on the iPad. But if you are an inveteratePicasa user, you could consider the $3.99 app Web Albums for iPad - APicasa Photo Viewer, Uploader, and Manager By Scott Sykora.
In short, not just deleting photos butmanaging them in various ways on the iPad has now become easy. Goodluck with your handling of it!

Goto Settings, select iCloud, select PhotoSteam, and turn it off - you will get a warning message that this will delete the photos in photostream (but they are in your camera roll and albums so no worries) and delete.  You will now have only Camera Roll (where you CAN delete photos directly on your phone), and any albums you've imported - which you can sync using iTunes.
Otherwise you can also loginto iCloud from Mac or PC and delete the photostream there
hope Apple changes this for future upgrades - would like to be able to delete ALL photos directly on my phone

how do you delete photos from the cloud?

    Hey linsfrombrandon,
The closest you will get to have your photos live in iCloud and not taking as much storage space on your iPhone is by using iCloud Photo Library. What it does is makes your Photos live in iCloud but also appear on your iPhone and other iOS devices and computers. It will be the exact same so any changes will be reflected everywhere. When they are on your iPhone, there is an option to use a compressed version. Take a look at the FAQs page and let me know if you have any other questions before making this decision to turn this on. I would also make sure that you have a safe copy of your photos before moving forward.

  • How do you delete photos from the albums on 4S?

How do you delete photo's and why is there the camera roll and Iphone roll? most ae duplicates?

Photos synced to iphone have never had a trash can.  You delete them the same way you put them there - the sync process.
If you do not want something on the iphone, then go to the phtos tab, deselect it and sync.
Photo Album is not a duplicate.  It is simply another place from which to access the same pics as you have in your synced albums.  This is how iphone handles photos - always has.
All photos synced to iphone can be accessed from Photo Library.  Those very same photos can alos be accessed from your individual photo albums.

  • How do I delete photos from iPhoto without deleting them from my hard drive

I've imported a bunch of photos from my hard drive.
I would now like to delete some of these photos from iPhoto but would still like to keep them on my hard drive in case I need to access them in future.
However, when I delete a photo from iPhoto and move it to the Trash, once Trash is emptied it deletes the original from the hard disc as well.
How do I get around this?
    Thanks
    Nick

    Thanks guys.
Can I hide an entire Event?
I used to use Picasa on a PC. When you make any changes in Picasa (even rotating a picture) it creates a copy. Any photos you have altered get named 'Originals' so when you import into iPhoto you end up with hundreds of Events called Originals with near duplicate photos.
So probably a third of my images (around 1500) are near dupes which I want out of the application but want to keep secure on my hard drive...
The pitfalls of switching to iPhoto from Picasa I guess (that said, iPhoto looks great)...
