HT4623 How expand battery life

I face problem with my new iPhone 5 battery
It drining the charging very fast

Put the phone down and stop using it.
Seriously though, kill any apps running in the background.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • N900 .. how about battery life ?

    Hi,
Nokia, congratulations with your very promising N900 !
However, how about battery life ? I can't find any info about it.

That's because it was only announced in the press yesterday. No reviewers have had the chance to test it yet...

  • How to expand battery life with iOS5 on iPhone 3GS, it's shorter than before?

I upgraded to iOS 5 and since then the battery doesn't seem to last that long any more. Are there any settings I could change to improve that?

Just as a heads up -- I've been out all day for the last two days with my 3G without recharging, and I still have a half-full charge at the end of the day with bluetooth on (though not paired all the time) with Wi-Fi on, and with three or four hours of internet and music usage a day. I don't fetch data, but have it set to check e-mail every 15 minutes. And it has been on 3G the entire time...it doesn't run down as fast as some people might think -- in fact, it is a lot longer battery life than any other 3G phone I have owned from ATT.

  • My ipod touch has a short amount of battery life of around two hours, but i installed an app that tells you how much battery life left, it said 4 hours, how come? is my ipod touch battery faulty?

my ipod touch 8gb, ios 4.3.2 has a short amount of battery life of around 2 hours, but i installed an app that tells you the battery life remaining, it said 4 hours, how come? is my ipod touch battery faulty

    Some useful info would be:
    What generation is it?
    How old is it?
If it's older than the 3rd generation, then the battery may have run its course (or iOS 4.3 is taking a toll on the battery).
If not, then you might have some issues leaving the wi-fi on and fetching data as well as running apps in the background that abuse location services and notification. Make sure those are off, or only running when necessary. If you see a small arrow in the top right corner (that isn't the music "Play" arrow), then you are currently running a location based service that can drain battery.
Also check your brightness settings, these can really pull battery life.

  • Is there any way to find out how much battery life you have on you're Bluetooth Magic Mouse and Apple Keyboard on your Windows Partion?

I'm a avid gamer and for my gaming needs most of the games that I love require Windows ,but due to my constant clicking I drain my mouse battery very fast so I always have backups. Is there anyway I can check how much mouse battery I have left so I can be sure before I start a gaming session that I'll be fine? Switching back and forth between partions is an option ,but I find it as more of a last resort then something to do normally.
    Thanks in advance!

call them, tell them you NEED a new battery installed, and they need to tell you when they can do it.  That is their job to help you! Give pushback if necessary.

  • HT1222 How is battery life for iPhone5 ?

    It's not like 4s

    http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
Then, real life battery depend of your usage like brightness, CPU usage, wi-fi, bluetooth, etc.  By the way, you should post in the appropriate iPhone forum not in iTunes.

  • HT1222 how much does this update redu e battery life?

how much battery life does iday update loose?

An update is never designed to reduce battery life. A small handful of users complain about battery issues with every single update.

  • MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch battery life on Yosemite

Has anyone noticed impact on the battery after upgrading to Yosemite? I found only one article online that talks about the impact. I followed the instructions but still the battery life did not improve. I'm running MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013, 15-inch, 2.6GHz Core i-7, 16GB RAM.
I think that I should be getting more than 8h of life when fully charged.
Link to article on iMore.com: http://www.imore.com/how-resolve-battery-life-troubles-your-retina-macbook-pro

So here is an update: I've followed the article posted by OGELTHORPE (Thank you!). What I actually did is 1. Reset the SMC and 2. Reset the PRAM (MacBook Air SMC and PRAM reset).
What I've seen so far: Once I did the reset, I would guess that the system needed to re-calcualte again the battery charge. Initially after I disconnected from power, it started with a measurement from under 3:30h. After 45 minutes running on battery it is showing again 8:45h remaining  @ 93% charge. What I noticed is that every time I put the laptop to sleep this repeats - starting with some low time measurement and slowly climbing. I think that this could be a bug in the software and the battery charge calculation method is somehow not working properly. I wonder after those resets if the OS needs to get into a couple of battery charge cycles and the battery is calibrated again?
I don't recall having this issue with the last year's release of Mavericks.
I hope someone from Apple sees this and address this with the next OS X update.

  • DPI vs HiDPI on battery life

I know this may greatly vary from usage to usage due to how much/frequent scaling takes place in HiDPI depending on the applications used but I would like to hear your personal accounts in this regard. Please kindly state:
how much battery life you are getting on DPI vs HiDPI
what applications you are using and your resolution setting
your specific rMBP (year and model)
your specific OS X including its current version

I did some experiments with the coconut battery application. I tried a webpage that does not normally cause a stutter problem and a problematic web page. I choose an Apple Support Community webpage (Macbook Pro Retina 13" late 2013 (Haswell) UI Lag) for the former and continuously scrolled up and down. For the latter webpage, I choose the following one (http://www.traveltheroad.com/store/travel-the-road-expedition-journal) that is notorious in the above-mentioned thread and also continuously scrolled up and down. I must note that I have Clcktoplugin 3.0 installed and therefore the embedded video was neither playing nor even ready to play due to the said plug-in which provides the option of playing the video in HTML 480p and 720p as well as Flash. I may later run the test while playing the video at 720p HTML and flash as well without scrolling in both pages later. The screen brightness was at the second level and the only open application during the test was Mail and Coconut Battery. My Mac is Late 2013 Haswell rMBP mid-tier model with Iris graphics. OS X version is 10.10.1:
    Scrolling the Apple Support Page:
    1280 x 800 normal DPI : 9.5 watts          1440 x 900 normal DPI : 10.1 watts          1680 x 1050 normal DPI : 10 watts
    1280 x 800 high DPI     : 11.3 watts        1440 x 900 high DPI     : 13.5 watts           1680 x 1050 normal DPI : 16.2 watts
Scrolling the problematic webpage without playing the video:
    1280 x 800 normal DPI : 20.7 watts         1440 x 900 normal DPI : 22.9 watts          1680 x 1050 normal DPI : 25.2 watts
    1280 x 800 high DPI     : 36 watts            1440 x 900 high DPI     : 35.9 watts           1680 x 1050 normal DPI : 36.8 watts

  • LOVE my video iPod, but I have a question on battery life

I just received my iPod yesterday, and I already have my entire music library on it as well as 3 movies and I must say I am amazed...
One question though, after watching "Stealth" for about 20 minutes, the battery appears to be halfway drained. Is this normal? How much battery life can you expect to get if you use it for watching a movie? One of the reasons I got the iPod video was for watching movies while on plane rides / long road trips etc, but it looks like the battery may not even last through an entire movie.
I did buy one of those external battery pack things last night which will help immensely on the road, but just curious on how far I can get watching a movie without any external devices?
Also, when using the videora, which is better, 6 channel AC3 or 6 channel DTS?

ilounge.com has a good article on battery life.
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/comments/apple-computer-ipod-5g-with-vi deo-30gb-60gb-ipod/
I've also heard the meter will change and reflect battery life based on what function is currently being used. So, after watching a lengthy video it may be red but if you switch to music it turns green because the current function uses less battery life per min/hour of use than videos do.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 battery life

I'm planning to buy one soon, how does battery life last when you guys are browsing over your cellular network(3G/4G)?

For me Excellent. I can use the phone nearly 2 days, and 1 day with heavy use (gaming, music, video, office). Really good battery life.

  • App for Battery Life

Does anybody know if there is an app to see how much battery life you have left? If not could someone design one?

SDK = Software Development Kit. It is what developers download to give them the development enviroment to code Applications for the iPhone. It has restrictions on what you can and cannot do. In general, any app written cannot interact with any other application or settings. Each app is self contained and that is the rule. However there are some services on the phone that Apple exposes such as allowing an App to tap into photo library/camera, read your location, keyboard, read contacts. But that is it. Thus no app can tap into other settings or alter the way another program works.

  • Loss of battery life in iOS 4.2 (compared with iOS 3.x)?

    Hi,
Similar to another poster here, I found that when I upgraded my (first-generation) iPad from the original iOS 3.x software it came with to iOS 4.2, it really smoked its battery life (like, that percentage in the upper right conner really came down a lot faster). I have installed iOS 4.3.3 today and so far cannot tell if there's any difference. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this loss of battery life in iOS 4.2 or 4.3 compared with the 3.x software?

Hi, thanks, I had tried that, but it's a good tip... I think there is just such a difference though between how the battery life had been with iOS 3.x compared with how it is with iOS 4.x... and also I think many of the posters in this thread had been experiencing similar problems:

Thanks for the tip though, really appreciate it! :-) Best,

  • Battery Life - FYI

    Hi ALL,
I did not know about this feature, so I figured I would share with my Touch comrades:
    Battery Life
When you want to preserve battery life while listening to music, you can press the sleep button on top of the device, this shuts off screen power and keeps your music playing. When pressing it again, it wakes the screen and prompts you to move a slider to unlock the iPod to prevent accidental input. This is by far one of my favorite UI enhancements - it works seamlessly and is perfectly executed. This was copied from a review by:

    Gunny

    Hi Everyone,
    On this note...
It's so fast to put the touch to sleep this way, even when not listening to music... How much battery life is used if nothing is playing in the background, and the touch is sleeping? As opposed to being turned off?
    Anyone know?
    Al
