Quite a while since there may be 1/2 million files or more to delete. There is only one quick way, and that is to reformat the drive.

How long does it take to install IOS 7?

    1. It depends on your internet speed.
    2. It depends on whether you are updating OTA or with iTune.

I tried to dowload it Wirelessly, and at first it showed me it was working. but then it started flashing the apple sign and a black screen

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How long does it take to set up a new ipad from a backup?

Just bought an ipad mini and decided to mirror my full size ipad onto it so chose the set up option to restore from backup.
It seems to have some what it needs to do but it gets stuck on step 6 of 6, resoring data.
Its been doing this for hours now, Im sure it must have a problem.
    Thanks

This is not a suggestion.  Do not follow it, but I tell you what happened to me a couple of years ago.
Recovering data from Backup via cable an iTunes to feed a new iPhone with data saved from the old one I was in the same situation: no activity after a long time.
I disconnected the iPhone, reset it and started again. It worked.
You will find here a lot of more clever suggestion, I did it on the basis that a Backup could not be demaged by disconnection.

  • How long does it take to get my X61 checked from water spill?

    Hi,
I had spilled some water into my X61 yesterday.
Though I instantly shut it down and try to clean, I was too stupid to try to boot it in ten minutes.
Not sure if it is "OK" right now....
Does anyone have the same experience?
Could you share how long does it take you to have your laptop shipped and checked at lenovo repair center?
    Thanks a lot!

do you have accidental damage warranty? if you don't then you will incur a hefty bill. The check up should not take more than 5 days including shipping, provided that no parts need to changed, if there is parts that are required, then depending on the parts availability, you could wait up to a month or two.

With regard to what? I assume that since the link connected to your question was from the "How to update your iDevice" kb article, you are talking about seeing this behavior after you updated the iPad.
So, if that's the case, it really shouldn't take but a minute or so, if it even takes that long. If this has been going on for minutes and minutes, the update process is stuck now. You can try restarting the iPad and see if the iPad behaves normally. That might be all that you need to do to set things right again. If restarting just takes you back to this page loading again, you can try rebooting the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • "How long does it take to do a dist-upgrade on your distro?"

Yesterday there was a question in the USALUG.org "How long does it take to do a dist-upgrade on your distro?"
This question was a good question, so I decide to make the ultimate test. I have a lot of computers standing here around, and remembered that on one of them was have already Archlinux installation. I was right, when I booted, the system check said me, that the system was 253 days not checked anymore. I got so excited that I forgot to check was it one of my 0.7.2 Gimmick or 0.8 Voodoo installations.

definitely. By contrast, here's a regular upgrade on my debian box -- out of the blue it's having some problem with one of the packages, and it's turning into a regular recursive nightmare.

It's so "delicate" and temperamental compared to the no-nonsense, straightforward approach of Arch. If one little thing is off, the entire system has a hissy-fit and won't do anything until you hunt the internet high and low searching for a solution, encountering all the debian hawks along the way who are ready to rip your head off at the first suggestion that debian isn't directly from god and could have a problem. Imo, Arch is the best linx distro hands down. Nothing else even comes close.

  • So how long does it take to load a 160GB iPod using the Convert Higher ...

I have a 160GB Gen 5 that I bought when first released back in the day when they were $400. Through a number of changes, the most recent being the advent of the Convert Higher Bitrate Songs to 128bit AAC feature, I decided to look at what more music I could store. After all was said and done, I ended up with a bit of a disaster with cover art not being properly applied to the music being played. I decided to *restore the ipod* based on suggestions in the discussion boards, and equally important was following the hints and tips here.
    http://www.samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp
The advice is especially important in very large library situations to ensure you have uniqueness in the albums you want to display. Hadn't really given it much thought until I had the ability to see the individual albums for the 40K songs on the iPod via the cover art view.
Finally the point of the post...
*So how long does it take to load a 160GB iPod using the Convert Higher Bitrate option now available in iTunes 9.1?* The specs on my computer are not highend by any stretch, but it's no slouch, and neither of the CPUs are ever pegged. At this point I've lost count of how much time it's taken, but the load is going on 3-4 days. With some breaks in between because I need to check each incremental load to verify there is no cover art corruption, correct bad tags and such, but for the most part the loading is visibly slow, and I'm sure the conversion is the cause. I'm not really complaining at this point, but there is clearly room for improvement. And of course unless there is a redo involved in which case I will get quite cranky.
*I would like to hear the experiences of others.*
Finally to lend a bit more credence to the performance concern, my 32GB iPhone 3GS for only about say 28GB of music takes about 24 hrs to load from a 2.2GHz dual core intel laptop, again using the convert higher bitrate option.

With AC power adapter it takes 3-4 hours for a full charge. With the USB charger it takes 9-0 hours for a full charge. I am not happy with them removing the AC charger and other accessoreis at all. It's business but it still stinks.
I know I would rethink my purchase but would most likely end up buying the Micro anyway

  • Sick of interleaving - how long does DLM take

Have had problems with a dishwasher tripping our electric over the past month and this has of course caused DLM to kick in any put interleave on line and limit my IP profile to always be below 60 mb.  My data rate is currently 57957 and hasn't increased for the past month steadily dropping from the 60mb ip cap last month when power cuts happened.
Before my connection was working great and my data rate was a lot closer to the Max data rate, currently it is at 57957, Max at 65760.  The Max data rate has been as high as 69000, still no increase in IP data rate.
The main thing though is interleaveing, I know that this is controlled by DLm and cannot be turned of directly, but as my IP profile seems to be stuck and steadily decreasing on every connection restart (which the hh5 seems to do on a whim sometimes)
My line stats seem to be ok SNR 6.0\6.0
    Line attenuation 18.2
Please can my IP profile be reset to remove my IP cap which would hopefully put me back on fastpath which I had been on for months and months till the power cuts

    same as mine https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connection/Poor-Service-from-BT-adamant-about-problem/...
Please can a mod look at my connection just reset the IP profile please, there are no faults on my line!!!!!!!!!

I feel this is the exact problem I've been having posted on here titled sick of interleaving - how long till DLM turns it off.
Could you check if your 1st hop is around 12 ms (click start, run, cmd, enter, tracert www.BBC.co.uk) my guess would be interleaving has been put on your line too.
If your router resets too many times (mine due to faulty dishwasher tripping electric)
Once this is on it seems to take ages to reset back to normal.  Like you I have the hh5 and this will sometimes do a random disconnect (firmware bug or BT messing with connection?) I always see in my event log a cwmp login from bt which will then reboot the router.
Like you my attenuation is very short (18.2)  SNR At 6.2 but it seems because my hh5 sometimes just reboots connection ( usually around 2.20am going from event logs) that interleaving will never come off.  I have read that it takes 2 weeks constant connection for speeds to return to normal and interleaving to be turned off.
Not happy about my connection for last month, after being very happy for months and months.  As soon as DLM has kicked can feel difference especially in pings more than raw speed for me.
Will run down my contract and jump ship as soon as contract runs out if mine doesn't improve.

How long does it take for an iphone 5s to go from preparing to ship to shipped. I ordered my iphone on sept 20 6:00 pm and right next to the "preparing to ship" it still says 7-10 days and apple already took the money out of my account?

Apple.com has notoriously given very accurate assessments of their ship dates.  Keep checking back there for updates.  The place to look is in the Store ... find the "Account" button near the upper right.

Wiki activity has not been showing up on the Activities tab of our Profiles for some time now. This is a known issue that they are working on. I don't know if our staticstics is being updated. You new article looks fine, so it must have published. Your
profile still shows 16 articles. I will try to check if our statistics are being updated, but it could be the same issue we already know about (no Wiki activities in profiles).
