HT4623 how to update my phone to iOS 5.1.1 using itunes when it only has iOS 6 now?
my phone is currently version 4.2.1 and i want to update it to 5.1.1 but my itunes only has update for iOS 6.... how to update my phone to iOS 5.1.1? and my phone also don't have the software update thingy.... so how? pls help me
so is there any possibilities that i could update to iOS 6 and then downgrade to iOS 5.1.1? if yes,pls teach me how. thks

Ipad also indicates connected to ITunes even when not. Tried to power off and power on again but same message. Also, restarted PC after download of latest ITunes version. When I make the USB connection I get an audible but no message about device connected. No access to Ipad in "Devices" either.
It is seen when I connect cable from ipad to dekstop then I see the message as "Ipad is in recovery mode." How can be solved this problems ?

If your on IOS 5 you can update thru your phone via wifi and plugged into a wall charger.
If your not on IOS 5 then plug your phone to your computer open iTunes and then update that way, itunes should automatically see that an update is needed. Suggest you backup your phone first then update. -
I updated my iphone 5 to ios 6.0.2. my wifi says its connected but doesn't work now. It doesn't matter what wifi network I connect to. It worked before updating my phone. I can no longer use facetime or use wifi at all. I'm not sure what to do to fix it.
I'm having similar issues with my phone. I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year. Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas. When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore. I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting. That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore. I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router. When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there. Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.

My iPhone is running with ios 4.2.1 & current version of ios is 6.0.1 in this case how can i update my iPhone to ios 4.3.5? itune will show only latest version of ios.
If you have iPhone 3G, the latest and greatest is IOS 4.2.1.
If you have iPhone 3GS or later, you can only update to IOS 6.0.1.
For iPhone 5 and iPad mini, you can update to IOS 6.0.2. -

Try resetting your iPhone ... but first, make sure it has a well charged battery!
Hold the on/off and home buttons together for 6 or 7 seconds until the Apple logo appears. -

It sounds like after having disconnected the iPhone physically during the update process, the phone appears to be stuck in recovery mode. If you have followed the onscreen image, and reconnected the device to your computer, then I would start by resetting the phone and trying again:
