HT4623 I am met with this, at the Choose Backup' stage
When I took my iphone 3 in to see what could be done, as the battery wasn't holding its charge I was agreeable with thire answer. So, I hae a replacement iphone 3 from Apple in west Quay, Southampton. As I didn;r remember a 'oass word' they informed me what to do once at home, did all the setting up 7 got to the point where iCloud is to be the source of 'back up' and am met with: 'Can't download from iCloud as the operating system is notcompatible'? What do I do? Aprt from driving back to Wesy Quay tomorrow for Apple to do it? Any answers please??
Connect your phone to iTunes & on the Summary Pane, hit the check for updates button, or on your phone: Settings>General>Software Update...is there an update available? If so, update your phone. After doing so, you should be able to restore from your iCloud backup.

Hi, I have backed up 2 IMACs and one Mac Book Pro but for some reason, the 3rd IMAC come up with this problem: The backup disk image “/Volumes/Data/Anthony’s iMac.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error -1). Why? The computer system is up to date and I have had no issue with the other computers, just this one.

I am using iphone 3gs, I upgraded my i-os to 6.0 from 5.1.1 however I am facing performance issue, along with this all the applications including settings or any other shuts down automatically. Is there any way by which I can use my phone in better way?
No, downgrading from any version of iOS to an earlier version is not supported.

When I try to back up my Iphone, I get a message that My Iphone can not be backed up on my computer. My computer is authorized and I have been successful with this in the past. I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled the lastest version and the same problem occurs.
If you are running Tiger, you don't have time machine.
You need to get something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner (sorry, I don't have a handy link for CCC but you can Google it to get their site) to make a clone of your drive on the external and then do incremental backups. The free versions do a lot and you can upgrade to the full-service versions for small change if you need more. The one time I used SuperDuper! for cloning a volume it worked just fine.
(My backup application is the last PPC capable version of Retrospect, which does a credible job, or has over the past ten-twelve years.) -

With firefox 5.0 I can't drag and drop pdf files in the google docs screen. When I do eventually get a pdf file uploaded I can't view it. I get "no preview available". In my previous verion of firefox (4.something) I had no problems with this and I was able to drag and drop and after uploaded I could view the entire file.
Thanks one again. I know you helped me the last to. I do have the Deja Vu font set in my folder. I downloaded and the last time. So I don't know if there is supposed to be more or not, but those were installed with Windows-XP after my reformat.
This is really driving me nuts. as I've done several re-formats on my computer and several friends computers and even upgraded hardware so I am not necessarily a software or programming expert, I am somewhat advanced when it comes to computers in general and can usually diagnose the problem but these font's are the problem and they never were before.
I did see in another forum that if you had a Dell Computer and did the Microsoft update for the onboard video card driver that it could be the culprit, but I have that disabled being I have a much better graphics card so the updates from Microsoft for the onboard video weren't installed.
It' a Dell Dimension 3000 with an Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller so I don't believe it is the culprit being it is disabled. The actual video card that I am using is a PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT with 1 GB Memory. And I didn't have any problem before.
I appreciate the help. But still can't get things to work. Live Help Chat doesn't open for another two hours so maybe they can do "Remote Access" or something and can check setting and help me. But if you come up with other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Time machine backup problem with upgrade to Lion - Choose Backup Disk button non-existant
Hi, I just upgraded my mac mini to Lion and have encountered a problem with by Time Machine. It no longer sees my networked drive for back up. So, I followed the instructions on this site http://code.stephenmorley.org/articles/time-machine-on-a-network-drive/ and get to item 6b. and have a problem I have not been able to sort out. Instead of the button "Choose Backup Disk" on the Time Machine window, I have a button "Select Disk" with a button "Options" under it. When I click "Select Disk" I get a window promtping me to "Set Up Other Time Capsule" and clicking that takes me to a window for AirPort Utility. (screen shot )
Anyone know why I don't have the right button for starters and why I can't access any drives on my machine at all? I followed the web instructions on the site I mention above because initially I had an error about AFP, so suspected the drive set up here (it is my work) is incompatible.
(The only IT guy we have is on vacation for 2 weeks and then I am on vacation for 2 weeks and can't wait a month in order to back up! Thought I would try here to see if I can get answers before I am away.)

I have Mac Book Pro ( bought November 2010) that I want to migrate all of the data and applications from, over to a new Mac Book Air? It was suggested that I use the Migration Tool as it is supposed to make an exact clone of the Mac Book Pro machine and put it on the Mac Boor Air. Can that really work if you are going from one platform to another?
I was also told I could restore the data from my time capsule to the MacBook Air.
I'm looking for the easiest method that will leave me with as little to do as possible to get up an running on the Mac Book Air afterwards. I'm not a real strong user and don't want to have to reconfigure applications to make them work.

Connecting your MacBook Pro and your MacBook Air will be the fastest way, but you have to spend money on cables and adapters (also, your MacBook Pro doesn't support Thunderbolt).
As you have a Time Capsule, one thing you can do is to start your MacBook Pro and make a Time Machine backup. Then, turn on your MacBook Air and set it up. Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from the Time Capsule and be patient. This can take a lot of time if you have to migrate a lot of files -
Here is the error in total: "The instruction at "0x7c84495d" referenced memory at "0xf94d9326". The memory could not be "read. I have tested this on several of our workstations, all with the same error.
I have started FF in Safe Mode and the error comes up. I've uninstalled it, renamed the install directory and still the error persists. I've updated the plugins to no avail. In Windows 7, this issue does not occur. Since it crashed upon exit, the Crash Recorder doesn't come up.I've already started Firefox in Safemode and the same issue persists. I've also gone in and manually disabled all add-ons and againk the same issue.

The itunes application icon on my dock does not bring up itunes. I have no problem accessing itunes from my iphone though, so I believe it is computer related rather than an itunes issue. Haven't had this problem before.

How well do Entity beans perform as opposed to using stateless session beans for doing all database access? I've never woked with them before and it seems like there is a lot of over-head involved. The database we are using will be shared by other sy
