HT4623 I am trying to update my iPad. When I go to ,settings then general I do not have the tab bar to update software
Hi I'm not unable to update my iPad software as when I go to settings then general I don't have the tab bar that offers me the opportunity to update software. Any ideas why as I am unable to download some apps etc as it says I need a different iOS-
Settings>General>Software Update is only available in IOS 5 and above.
If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.

That is only present if you have already updated to iOS 5 or later. If you're on iOS 4 you can only update while connected to your computer's iTunes.

You can't access iCloud from your iPhone unless you're on iOS 5 or later. Otherwise, refer to this article:

Can't seem to make this work. I am up to date with my updates on both I-Phone and I-Pad. The "Hand-off" feature is working, and I don't want it. How do I turn it off? I don't have the option to do that when I go to General & Settings. Is it located somewhere else? Apple says that is where it is. What am I doing wrong, The "wonderful feature" is driving me crazy. Surely it is others also...

<Edited by Host>Hi debinarizona,
I see the Handoff setting under "Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps".
Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity

when i go to settings then general there is no software update? i am trying to up date my phone...
The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

Also read the instructions from the section entitled "Update your device using iTunes" at the link below.

im trying to update my phone, but when i go into settings, then general, there is no update option?, why?, please help
Then you will need to update to iOS 5.1.1 as outlined above. A word of caution before updating: be sure to import all your photos to your computer and back up your contacts (by syncing with a supported program such as Outlook, to an online service such as Google, or using an app like My Contacts Backup). Failure to do so risks losing your data.
Syncing an iPhone 4 requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
You will first need to meet these system requirements in order to sync (and update) your phone. -
I bought an IPhone 3gs and tried to reset the APN through Strait Talk Wireless but when I click on settings then "General" tab they tell me to click on the "Network" tab but there is not a "Network" tab? After Network, I was supposed to go to Cellular Data Settings but I can't find the Network tab under the General tab. I watched videos and every IPhone I saw had the Network tab but mine don't, can anyone please help this old man fix this new technology, so I can use the Internes and MSM?Thanks, jerry b <><
Hey electrikn,
Thanks for the question. If your iPhone 3GS has been updated to iOS 6, this setting had moved:
Set network options: Go to Settings > General > Cellular

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes Installed
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Note:
The Current iOS for the iPhone 4s is iOS 7. -
Am I the only person having this problem? When I ask Siri to open iTunes Radio the last station I used comes up but I cannot open iTunes Radio.
The App icon for iTunes and Music look virtually the same, so are you looking in iTunes or Music. iTunes Radio is in Music.

Can i stack JPEG images or do they have to be Raw Files? The other help videos I have seen have the shortcut CommandG to stack, mine does not respond that command nor do i have a heading labeled Photos.
In order to stack images they must be all highlighted as a group. And the group must be contiguous, in other words next to each other. However, if you are talking about stacking images for the purposes of creating an HDR image, that cannot be done using Lightroom. You will need Photoshop or some other software with HDR capabilities in order to do that. It is possible to stack any file type or combination of file types, including virtual copies.

HT4623 I do not have the option to select software update. How might I resolve this?
I do not have the option to click on "software update" and wish to update to iOS 5.1. How might I resolve this?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

If I try to play a certain person's vevo videos for example they won't play. Other videos posted by people will play, but it seems like if it is an official page by whoever (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, etc) they won't play and I have no idea why.
