I attempted to update my iPhone 4 without realizing that I need to sync it with my laptop. My iPhone 4 is now stuck in the connect to iTunes mode and now I cannot use it. Is there a way to reverse this so I can use my phone because I do not have my computer with me?
Maybe it was hacked before and now through the update it's locked back to the original carrier.

Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.

re started iphone after powering down, now is stuck in connect to itunes mode and wont do anything else. also has no service, I was able to retrieve all of my photos so the device is functional on that level. have restarted several times & also have restored data from i tunes. it said my phone is damaged.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 7.0.6 and now I cannot use text/phone services. When attempting to access either service from the primary display the screen whites out and freezes up. Settings>Phone allows me to interface with my preference howevver tapping on Settings>Messages (or Settings>Facetime) causes the Settings function to lock up. I have to back out of Settings entirely and restart. This is seriously agrivating.
I would do a full restore in iTunes using your last backup.

There were. Not much, but a single card which illustrated the iPad and labelled the buttons, and on the reverse gave instructions under the headings "set up, sync, and charge", and under the heading "Learn more" gave links to www.apple.com/iPad, help.apple.com/iPad, www.apple.com/support/iPad, and www.apple.com/support/manuals/iPad.

Mac Mini and LCD TV, changed resolution and now cannot use the screen anymo

I have a Mac Mini and and LCD TV which is connected via HDMI cable. I was playing around with the resolution settings (not very smart in hindsight) and managed to select a resolution that my TV does not support. I do not have another monitor or Macbook. Is there anything I can do to reset the resolution settings? I tried to reset the PRAM, but that didnt seem to solve the problem. I also tried starting in Safe mode but that didnt do the trick either.
Appreciate your help!Arie, it may be possible to get to System Preferences via the keyboard. But you have to be sure the Finder is the foreground application. Is your Mac set to boot straight into your account or does it pause waiting for a password? If it boots straight into a user account, you can try the following procedure:
\- Restart the Mac (It should be hooked up to the misbehaving display in case that's not clear)
\- When it is done booting, type Cmd-Tab and then Cmd-Q. Do this several times. (Cmd-tab will step the Mac through all the programs that might be running. Cmd-Q quits them. Doing this several times ensures that only the Finder is running since the Finder can't be quit. This is important for the next step)
\- Type Shift-Cmd-a (This should open the Applications folder)
\- Type "sys" quickly (System Preferences within the Applications folder should now be highlighted)
\- Type Cmd-o (This should open System Preferences)
\- Type out the word "screen settings" completely (This should cause Displays to be highlighted in the System Preferences main panel)
\- Hit the Return key (This should open Display Preferences)
\- Hit the Return key again (This will clear any alert box that may have popped up)
\- Hit the Tab key once (This will shift the keyboard focus to the resolutions list)
\- Now start using the up (or down) arrow on the keyboard one press at a time. Each press of the arrow key moves to the next resolution in the list. Wait at least five seconds between arrow key presses for the resolution change to take effect. Hopefully, at some point, the monitor will light up with a stable image and you are back in business. -
IPhone stuck in 'connect to iTunes mode' and can't restore via iTunes!!!
IInstalled new update last night. Then crashed and won't turn on, says connect to iTunes. I have tried to update and restore about 20 times but every time it says halfway through 'the iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3) I have done a hard reset about 30 times on the phone tried updating via computer, doesn't let me do that. Doesn't let me restore. I've turned computer on/off reinstalled iTunes. Reinstalled the new software of 8.1.3 or whatever. And now I stand to lose everything!!! What more can I do!! I'm in UAE. And there's no official Apple shops!! I'm soo annoyed and spent hours trying to fix it, I have had every single iPhone and am very competent in the use of them.. Right now I'm on my iPhone 6+ which has the update and it was fine.. Please someone help me, if possible!!
yes, just to say a big thank you to Apple ...realizing today while browsing these forums that I haven't been the only one. Happened to me when I updated from 8.1.2 to 8.1.3 OTA... device (iPhone 4s) stuck in recovery mode ... how nice, this has never ever happened to me after years of using iOS, whether I updated OTA or via iTunes, never. I was then delighted to experience the restore process ... wasted hours doing that thanks again ! (I have many apps and a big backup so...). Seriously, this is unacceptable.

IPod Touch 3rdGen stuck in connect to itunes mode and driver missing
Ok what happened was I wasn't at my own house and and I wanted to put some new music on my iPod touch 3rd Generation. I had to update to the new itunes first. Then once I was finished I remembered I had to update my iPod touch so I clicked on update. Then at some point the ipod screen had the USB connect to itunes and a window comes up saying Windows needs to install driver software for your apple mobile device ( recovery mode ) and my computer cant find it. I have went into the device manager and when i click on properties for the apple mobile device recovery clicked properties and in the device status box it sais
"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
I have looked to re download the drivers and I can't find them. The other problem is my primary computer is not working and if i have to completely reset my ipod i will lose practically everything because I have a feeling my primary laptop is getting reset.
So to conclude it's really saying my apple mobile device recovery mode is there, but there is not a driver installed to it.- First I would remove and reinstall all the Apple software using the following and then restoring the ipOd.

- Next see if manually placing the iPOd in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode see:

IPad Stuck in "Please Connect to iTunes" Mode, but is Fully Booted.
So today was like any day, just downloading some apps, and like I often do I decided to restart my ipad before trying out a particularly large app I just got (Epic Citidel). So shut down is normal. I restart it, Apple logo, good, 30 second boot time, good, "Connect to iTunes" message, wait, what? My iPad is displaying the little iTunes icon and a 30-pin dock connector being attached to it, just like when I first got my iPad out of the box. But here's the odd part: iOS is fully Booted. How can I tell? I have a pair of headphones with one of those push-to-talk buttons, which also happened to pause and play music on my iPad. And upon pressing this button in my iPad's current state it does indeed proceed to play and pause music, as if everything were perfectly normal. So this must mean that iOS is fully booted and that there must not be anything majorly wrong hardware wise. I can't make it do much else though. Home button, double home, etc, nothing. The only other UI element that functions is the Shutdown Slider, which acts like normal. I have shutdown and restarted, cold booted, done just about everything, and it won't change.
So, I should just connect the iPad to my MacBook, do what ever it says, and get over it, right?
No, because iTunes says "Please Enter the passcode on your iPad before Syncing may take place" (or something to that effect). But the problem is that the passcode keypad only appeared once, on the very first "limbo" boot, and hasn't since. So I can't very well restore or do anyhting if iTunes won't connect.
Since I know you'll ask: No, I have never jail-broken or used any 3rd party anything on this iPad, it is "clean". It had OS 3.1.2? I don't know, the one right before the most recent (before the PDF fix). It's a 64GB 3G+Wifi Model, only like two months old. I've never had a significant problem with it before.Hello triflyer. I'm afraid I have lukewarm news. I was finally forced to bring it to the Apple Store (since it wouldn't even recover) and they basically said it's a hardware issue and there was nothing they could reasonably do for it. However, if your iPad is still under warranty (and I don't think any are old enough yet to not be) they'll most probably replace it for free right there at the store. (or at least that's what they did for me) Very painless and quick, just describe the problem to them and let them fiddle with it for a bit.
I only resorted to the Apple Store because it would not restore in Recovery Mode. But if you haven't tried Recovery Mode yet I suggest you do, because that might fix it. Follow these directions:

Iphone 2g connect to itunes mode and pc doesn't recognise

I am not sure how or why but my iphone went blank today, I assumed that the phone had run out of battery, I plugged it in but it did not seem to charge. Next the symbols for connect to itunes came up so I connected it to my laptop but itunes would not recognise it, the symbols stayed on then it reset after a few minutes. I have reset the phone and nothing. The phone is locked to O2 and it has a tesco mobile sim installed. I have had the phone for 3 months and it has worked fine.
