I installed the new update today and now some of my apps will not open I can't even open the app store

I think it would be a good idea first, to restar the phone if you have not already.

If that does not resolve the issue, I would next close all the apps on the phone that are running, restart the phone again, and test the issue one more time.

IF you get app update notifications, are you able to use the App Store from the Updates Tab? Try closing the App Store and reset your iPad. You will not lose any data.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Can not open app store on macbook pro/imac after installing Mavericks

I have just installed Mavericks on both a Macbook Pro and an iMac. I use the same Appleid on both.
But now I can not open App Store
I have tried clicking on the App Store symbol in the dock, starting it from the program folder in a Finder window, and starting it from the Apple menu. The result is the same: Nothing happens except that the menubar that was active before the attempt becomes inactive (dark). There is no App Store Window, and no App Store menubar.
I have one idea why this happens. I removed the "OS X Mavericks" from the list of downloads/purchases in App Store by misstake before I installed Mavericks. If that is the problem how can I solve it?

Ok, now it works again. I got a Notice that I could update some applications and I answered that I wanted to do that. Then, when I tried to start App Store the menubar showed up but no window. I choosed "Windows - Minimize", exited App Stored and started it again. And now it works - on both computers!

Lanny here are the startup key sequences on wired keyboards to know for future reference:
SHIFT - safe boot.
command-S single user mode to run fsck
command-R to run a recovery boot.
command-option-P-R to reset the PRAM on Macs younger than 4 years, or whose PRAM battery is younger.
command-option-O-F to boot into open firmware.
D key to boot hardware test on an Intel Mac - for pre-July 20, 2011 Macs, this means having the original installer discs.
Option key - Startup Manager.
Option = Alt key on Windows keyboards.
Command key may be Windows key on Windows keyboards, or cloverleaf or Apple logo key on Apple keyboards.

Try this:
1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

I feel your pain. My firm's IT guy finally found a solution, no thanks to Apply or iTunes, though it evidently is/was a Windows issue. Go to "My Computer," click "Properties." in the "System" window, click on "Advanced system settings," that brings up the "System Properties" window. Click on the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Environment Variables" button. Find and highlight the "Path" variable in the "System Variables" section. Click "Edit" to bring up the "Edit System Variable" window. Finally, place your mouse cursor at the very end of the "Variable Value," and modify the variable value by adding the following (EXACTLY) to the end:

I would be very careful, I selected the upgrade photos and now I have a 200GB library file but no way to access the photos, it appears to be something to do with the 10.10.2 upgrade and the use of an external Thunderbolt drive to store my photos on, but I am nearing desperation in trying to get back my years of photos (last effective backup - despite having time machine turned on) - appears to be 2012.

Yosemite, iPhoto 9.6 upgrade, large photo library is not recognised.
But it is outrageous that a 'minor' upgrade that was not meant to be about iPhoto could have such drastic outcomes. It must be relating to the file service changes they were doing or the work they were preparing for the new photo app - either way, not happy!

Repair

In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

First I'd recommend following the instructions in this Update Process link. Next download (or redownload if you have already) the 10.6.8 Combo Update. You can find it at:

Hi - I can not open App Store on my iPad mini from yesterday ? I have my mini from 3 month it's first time not opening . Help me please

1. Make sure iPad is using the latest software
2. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
3. Make sure Time Zone is correct

Problem now resolved as I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6. Seems App Store doesn't like anything previous to 10.6.

So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac". I really, really miss Steve Jobs!
