HT4623 I cannot login to my Apple ID on my phone after the update, although I can login to Apple on my computer. What do I do to get my phone back to operational? Please help!
I have updated my I phone 4S and need to login to in to be able to use my phone. I am able to access and log in to Apple on the computer with my password and username although not able to do this on my phone. It keeps saying invalid user name or password. Please help me so I can use my phone. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.
Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.
Do not change your settings.

It will be backed up on your computer and can later be restored to an iOS device using iTunes, if desired. Of course, if your hard drive crashes you'll lose it if it isn't backed up somewhere else. after there being an error in trying to update the software it said i have to restore my phone which i have done but says time remaining is about 24 hours . can you please help ? i just want to switch my phone on again .

From what I can gather, it sounds like you're having issues restoring your device. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains helpful advice concerning recovery mode:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Use recovery mode
You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:
iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes.
To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.

Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.
If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

I accidentally restored my new iphone 5 with the stuff from my old iphone 4. It deleted all my new pics and videos and replaced them with the old. Is there any way to recover the photos and videos that were on my iphone 5 before I restored it?
If those photos were not backed up (or imported to your computer for safe keeping like they should have been), then they are gone. All the data on the iphone 5 was overwritten with the backup from the iPhone 4.

I upgraded the OS on my iMac to Lion from the App store; and after installation, it restarted and now the operating system won't start up.... it keeps displaying the apple/folder with a question mark and a circle with a line through it! Please help!
Try starting up with your Snow Leopard DVD and see if the disk can be repaired. Once you are at the installer screen go to the Utilities Menu and choose Disk Utility and choose repair disk. You might also want to try Diskwarrior.

Unless the iPhone was purchased as unlocked very recently directly from an Apple Store (the only place in the US where unlocked iPhones are sold, and then only since June), which from the symptoms I doubt is the case, then it was locked to AT&T and jailbroken to make it work with an Irish cell carrier. Updating the operating system has now relocked the iPhone back to AT&T.
Only the cell carrier can institute an official unlock, one which will hold across updates of the operating system, and AT&T will not do so for any reason. All we can advise here is that you return the iPhone to your uncle and purchase an iPhone there in Ireland.
