HT4623 I changed my Apple ID email on my iPad and now whenever it asks me for the pass on my iPods it uses the wrong eMail. What do I do????

Ahhhh! I changed the Apple ID for my iTunes account because I don't really use that email anymore. When I did all was well until my iPod 5 started to ask for the password using a pop up which is normal. But when I typed in the password I realized that it didn't have the right email. What should I do to fix it?

Maybe:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
Just what are yo doing when the message occurs?

    Did you try charging it for at least 15 minutes, then turning it on and entering the passcode?  If it won't turn on after charging, try resetting ti by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

    An iTunes account cannot be transferred to or created on an iOS device by itself.
    Did you sync your iPhone with iTunes when iTunes was logged in with your kid's iTunes account - did you transfer any iTunes content to your iPhone including apps that were downloaded with your kid's iTunes account?
    If so, this is why you are being prompted for the password for that iTunes account.

    My husband has upgraded ios7.  His iphone and mine have the same apple id.  he has activated "icloud" which i have never activated before.  He is receiving my imessages and facetime calls. How do i disable this yet still continue using our shared apple id on both devices????

    Short term solution, do this on both devices
    Settings > iCloud > Shut off anything you don't want shared
    Long term solution (actual solution)
    You need seperate Apple IDs for iCloud. iTunes and iCloud are not the same.
    Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
    On one of the devices go Settings > iCloud > Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID
    This will seperate your Contacts, Calendars, Messages etc.
    You both can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share apps and music

    I'v had my laptop for 9 years. I have been running Mozilla maybe for a year with updates. microsoft Automatic updates are set. Then, yesterday, for no reason at all, Microsoft asks me for my product key activation. Made some research and found out that my microsoft is genuine, however, it has not been activated!!! I found it really strange. When I wanted to put my product key registration, they say it is invalid. So, I made some research by going on the link they offered on the activation screen which brought me to be able to browse the internet. When I made research, I found out through the "test if your product is genuine", there is a product key that is different than what I have. They say I have product key xxxxx-xxxxx-T6DFB-Y934T-YD4YT. it clearly says it is 100 genuine but was not activated! After 9 years? I saw they wrote that my browser states mozilla. am not sure why this is happening. how can my product key change without my authorization? how can I not be able to enter my own computer anymore? why isn't my product activated? can you help me? can't contact microsoft without paying $49/hr or something like that... I don't have a credit card...

    Mozilla has nothing to do with a Microsoft product activation key.
    That "test" page should be viewed in Internet Explorer and not with Firefox, as it may use ActiveX which isn't compatible with any Mozilla product.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

  • I updated my iPad and now whenever I open an app it changes to upright and will not swing round to be on the side. Can I undo this?

    If the app is to be used sideways it's fine but things like Facebook, the internet or Skype won't go sideways now. Some things I do online need to be sideways. It happened after an update I did thing morning. Can I. Be undone, also I would like to undo the update before this one cause I hate the changes to the calendar in particular. Thanks

    What is your iOS version? Try deleting the account in Mail and setting it up again. Repeat in second device if successful/necessary.

    I recently changed cable providers, so my email changed too.  I was able to change my iMac to a new email and reset the password, but I am not able to use that email with my iPod touch.  It still has my old email locked in when it asks me for my password.  I don't remember the pasword because I tried to modify it when I did my iMac, and can't remember which password and capital letters I used.  I am not able to back up my iCloud and am afraid to finally upgrade the software until I have this problem fixed.  My secret question answersare wrong, and can't use the old email to reset because I have no access to that email account anymore.  Can anyone help?  If not I got to pay $19 to Apple support to fix it.  Thanks.

    To get it to your new Apple ID, you would need to change it back to your old on so you can turn off Find My Device and turn it off. Once that is done, change it back to what you are currently using now. Take a look at the article below for more information.
