I have an i phone 3G 2nd generation and i can't update the 'whats app' because it requires iOS 4.3.1 software which is not available for my phone ! Also I have deleted the 'what's app' to reinstall it and now its not possible so what shall I do ?
2 things:
1. Talk to whatsapp developer for a version that can run on iOS 4.2.1 (your iPhone 3G latest and greatest iOS version)
2. Buy a new iPhone.

See if moving the exsting backup to a safe location will allow a successfull backup since iTunes will create an entire new update file rather than modifying the existing one. The file is located here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory. -

I feel as though I am forced into repairing the iphone before I can backup the information (photos, videos, contacts). If the apple ID on the device is the same as the one on my iMac I do not understand why I have to unlock the iphone by typing in the 4 digit passcode. This is a little ******** as having the screen break seems to be the usual prpblem with the iphone, I want to be able to backup my files when I feel the obvious need to do so (eg. when it breaks)! I also believe I shouldn't have to use other apps for backing it up (which I obviously have to pay for).. I am rather angry with this issue.Okay folkes, you were right and I was wrong.. I admit it. But I was pretty mad though when I tryed to backup the last few contacts I needed for work and couldn't do so. Worst things are when something gets broken (by me or whatever) when there is an emergency. I needed the contacts off of that phone real fast and couldn't do it, thats what got me real mad. And btw I am a Russian living in Moscow and instead of having an official Apple store we have shopes called ReStore who resell apple devices with ridiculous prices, same thing with the repairs. It is cheaper to sometimes buy a new iphone then repair an old one.. So there.. but I repaired it and now happy again with my apple device.. Also I know the itunes and icloud are free and I do back it up, this time however I couldn't use them and had to try the iphone extractor app, which is not free. There.. Hello, I have a Mac computer with NVIDIA 750M dedicated graphics card and monitor EIZO but the problem was there when I was working with Windows and Acer monitor. When I open a file from Camera Raw in PS this is smaller than the screen so I double-click with the tool "hand" to fit on the screen, but the picture loses sharpness and becomes blurry. If you magnify the image even only slightly with the tool "zoom" the picture comes back clear. In Camera Raw instead is always sharp. I solve the problem by turning off the graphics card in PS but often use plugin that need the graphics card otherwise the processing time is much longer. I ask for help.

That only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (you may also want to copy photos off the iPad as well) and then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'. You may also want to copy off the iPad any important documents, notes, files etc e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case.
You can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button.

I have a late 2011 macbook pro running OSX Lion, and it wont update the firmware to 2.7, it downloads the update then says its installing it but when i go back to software update it keeps coming up saying it needs to be updated. Im wondering what can i do to stop this or get it to update.
Once it is downloaded you need to restart the computer if it does not restart automatically. When it next starts up you should note a progress bar appearing below the Apple logo. When done the computer will restart once more. The new firmware should now be installed.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed or if it is due to the model being oldIf you are running iOS 3.1.3, it is very likely you have a 1st generation iPod touch. That is the highest iOS version it can handle.
Regardless, you can find plenty of apps in the iTunes store which run on older devices. Here is my favorite solution for filtering compatible apps:

I really need help, my ipod shows to connect to the WiFi but then it will not let me use the interent it says no connection but according to my screen i have WiFi connection, i am very confused an i would really appriciate it if someone could help me sort out this problem so i can start using my iPod for work again.
Even though the iPod shows as been connected, it might not have actually received a valid IP address via DHCP from your Wi-Fi access point or router. Head to Settings -> Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected. If 169.xxx.xxx.xxx is listed for an IP Address, then your iPod did not receive a valid IP address. To correct this you can reboot your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds.
It wouldn't hurt to also reset your iPod. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

If that does not help, is the iPod recognized by iTunes when it is connected to USB? If so, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES). Over to the right, go to the Settings screen. There should be a Restore button there. Restore will erase the iPod, install the latest software, and give it the default settings. After it completes, load some songs on it and try it again. Hopefully, it will play now.
If that does not help either, please post back. -

Is is a 2G iPod? They look the same.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318. -
I have tried restoring factory settings and loading the preferences I saved before updating the OS.
Neither of these methods have any effect.
The ipod also seemingly prevents you from restarting the ipod using the earlier OS software when resorting from recovery mode.
Any other ideas?

Only certain sites, such as CNN, will show the site name but not the URL in the Bookmarks Organizer. Sometimes they will appear on a restart. I noticed this in FF 3.16 and thought that FF4.0 might cure it but it hasn't. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, all plugins, and the advice on the Firefox help site under "bookmarks don't work." I'm typing this from a different computer with essentially the same settings, OS, etc. and this does not show a problem on this machine. I've been through Task Manager, Processes and FF does not appear after shutdown.

Installation problems can have so many causes...but my first question is did you cancel installation of Windows drivers after it found the soundcard as new hardware? Second, and by way of example, recently the IT guy at work setup a new WinXP PC for me including an A2ZS card. But he installed the default Windows drivers for the soundcard. In Device Manager, I uninstalled these drivers and rebooted. Windows found new hardware. I cancelled the offer of Windows drivers and proceeded to install drivers, Creative software apps, and Mediasource from the original installation CD. Everything works fine now. Possibly you've done something similar to this procedure already, but If you decide to try it again, uninstall any software apps first.

It isn't. The one lacks the RAM to run the newer operating systems.
