Help. I need to download my photos to my computer so that I can upgrade my phone. I have it plugged into my computer right now. I don't know what to do next.

If you used iTunes to get the photos on the phone, then use the same iTunes and uncheck the music you don't want and do another sync.

i hooked up my iphone 5 c to my computer to download my photos onto my computer and instead it downloaded all pictures on my computer to my phone and ipad in the photo gallery and now I cannot delete them. please help
Sounds like you synced the photos instead of importing the photos.
In iTunes with your device plugged in, go to the photos tab and uncheck the photos that were synced over, then sync again. This should take the photos from your coputer off the devices leaving just the camera roll.
If you have a Windows computer, go to mycomputer and right click on your device and select import pictures and video. If its a Mac computer, plug in your device and go to iphoto and select import all. -

iPhone 3G is up to date with iOS 4.2.1, that is the highest this iPhone will go. If it is lower than 4.2.1 update to 4.2.1 is performed with iTunes on computer.

I imagine a ton of people are attempting to download it right now. Simple patience, maybe keep trying, and if possible, try a little later. Think of it as all those people lining up at Apple Stores + about a million more.

Connect it to the computer. Open iTunes. Select it under the Devices heading in the iTunes' sidebar. Click on the Summary tab. Click on the Sync button in the lower right corner of the window. This will setup your first sync and backup. After it is completed click on the Music tab in the iTunes window. Select the music you want to sync or click on the Sync All radio button if you want all the music synced. Of course, there must be sufficient space on your phone. Then click on the Sync button to transfer the selected music to your phone. -

I no longer have the music on another computer (I no longer have the original computer) and the only other place I put the music was my Ipod that I lost. (Im sure its somewhere in my house, but can't seem to find it)Whether you can re-download your past music purchases will depend upon what country that you are in. On the iTunes store home page on your computer there should be a Puchased option under Quick Links on the right-hand side of it - go into that and see if music is an option for re-downloading

I have at least 3 albums of music that appear in the "purchased" column on itunes, but the files have gone missing. I have the files on my iphone, and can listen to them on it, but when I try to play them on my Mac I get the message : The song “XXXX” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" but when I try to find the songs in my itunes library the files are not there. I have had to de- and reauthorize my computer to get the apple tv (1) to play old content, and wonder if in doing that, I have somehow wiped out old purchased song files. Is there a way to transfer these songs back onto my desktop Mac? The "transfer purchases from iphone" function doesn't do it, seemingly because the songs were all puchased via the desktop.

to copy photos from your iPhone to your computer you can either use photo stream via icloud and the icloud control panel for windows see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html OR plug your phone in and open up your "my computer" and navigate to your iPhone it should provide you with a way to view the photos just like any digital camera.

Don't know what this means. Once you download them once. They will never download again. You have taken delivery of them. They are now yours to keep up with, move/copy/backup.
For future downloads, they will download from any computer from which you have signed in.
You can open itunes on your computer and download the next one if you like, as long as you have not downloaded elsewhere. -
