HT4623 I have my Ipad plugged into power source; however, it displays a power cord and ITunes image.  Is something wrong?

My Ipad is plugged into power source and after requesting lastest software update it just shows a powercord and ITunes icon.  Is something wrong?  I already updated to the lastest IOS upgrade.

You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • HT4060 I have my iPad plugged into the wall, how come its not charging the battery?

How come my battery is not charging even though the iPad is plugged in?

    The possible reasons could be....
    1. Bad connector cable
    2. Faulty power adapter/charger
    3. Problem with the wall socket
    4. Faulty dock connector opening
    5. Something impeding the charge getting through - debris in the connector end of the iPad
    6. Faulty iPad/corrupt software
Try another cable, another power adapter, another wall socket, and go from there. Nobody can just guess what the reason is, start eliminating some of the possible causes and go from there.

  • TS1363 I connect my ipad to my computer to do a sync but it is not showing up.  My ipad is disabled and I need to sync it back to the computer. I have the ipad plugged into the computer but the sync does not light up.

My ipad is disabled and when I connect to the computer to sync it is not finding it.  I don't know what I need to do to fix it so that I can sync.  Please help

    Restore your ipad

  • Why do I have to have my phone plugged into a power supply to sync wirelessly?

What is the point in being able to sync wirelessly if I still have to have my phone plugged into a power supply?  If I have to plug it into the wall, I may as well plug it into my Mac. That's pointless.

Yes, I realize that, but that pretty much makes the wireless sync pointless. You know what I mean? If I have to plug it in to anything I might as well plug it into my Mac

  • Does the power cable from my 24" CinemaDisplay have to connected for the display to work.  I just had it repaired and now it seems to have to be plugged into the laptop  I dont remember it being like that before.

Is the power cable from the display required to be plugged into my MBP for my display to work.  Recently had work done on the display (power supply replaced twice, glass replaced twice).  Also since I got it back from repair  my system goes to sleep sleeps even though I have it set not to.  Frustrated

awesome, so you sound like you know what your going on about. im guessing its a Software fault tbh, because its like the phone is dead.. very upsetting..but with it not being the screen if they dont ask me to replace it and to send it off for repair what can i say as to a loan phone, mind a ease a little bit now i will just now wait for tommorrow to see what happens thank you

  • My ipad has the message-This ipad hasn't been backed up in two weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi.  I press ok and nothing happens.  I have it locked, plugged into wall, and conected to wi-fi.

Go to Settings, iCloud, and then Storage and Backup.  You will then see a button to backup your iPad.  It may be that you have much stuff (i.e. photos, apps) for it to do a full backup but you will be able to tell what the estimated backup should be and what it will consist of so that you can choose to prune down items.  If you don't want to backup and get rid of the messages you can just turn backup off from this area as well.

Normally, you just connect the monitor to the MacBook using a VGA adaptor that you can buy from an Apple Store.  Now try System Preferences > Displays > Detect Displays.  You should now be able to select a display mode for the monitor.  If it still doesn't work, then I'd check that everything is properly connected.  I've had problems with colours disappearing due to a faulty connection in the VGA adaptor.

    Hi Melissa,
    Pretty strange, but...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, does it happen in Safe Mode? Reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Woke up to my iPhone 4 being completely blank. I've tried restarting and resetting it as well as charging it and plugging into my computer. Can anyone shed some light as to what may be wrong or how to fix it? Thanks

Woke up to my iPhone 4 being completely blank. I've tried restarting and resetting it as well as charging it and plugging into my computer. Can anyone shed some light as to what may be wrong or how to fix it? Thanks

    Hello there, Kyle.Kuz.
The following Knowledge Base article that provides some helpful pointers to help resolve your issue is:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
    Specifically:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.

I have an iPad 1. I went to do an update on GarageBand and iBooks but it will not update. How do I return it to the original version?

Well, to paraphrase the old line, "What're you gonna believe, that email or your own lying eyes?"
The first thing I'd recommend trying is to power down your iPad (press & hold Sleep/Wake until the red OFF slider appears, then slide it to shut down), and then boot it back up and try again. You're resetting a bunch of state signals by doing that and this simple action (the first of a series recommended by Apple in your Users Guide) will quite often clear up these sorts of problems.
