I have upgraded to ios5 but can't get wifi sync to work.

I have just upgraded to iOS5 but cant get wifi sync to work. The main itunes library is hosted on my imac. The message on the ipad (and iphone) is that it is waiting on my imac to be available but the imac is on and connected to the same network as the ipad. Is there something I need to do on the imac to get it to communicate with the ipad?

Bought New Extreme, works great with Macs but can't get PC to connect

I just bought a new Airport Extreme this weekend. As promised it was a breeze to set up and things were working well until I tried to connect my TIVO and my work laptop (Windows) to the network I set up. I can't get either to connect to either the base network or the guest network with any level of security set on it. My only success has been to configure the Guest Network without security on it (but I don't like that idea).
Please help.

I don't see "Equivalent Network Password" as a selection on the Base Network screen (or any of them for that matter).
Isn't this the password for my base station and not the wireless network? Maybe that is my problem. I am trying to connect to the network and not the Base Station? I am getting confused. What I really need to do is connect my work laptop (Windows based machine) and my TIVO to the wireless network I've created (Radio Mode selected to Automatic, Channel Selection to Automatic, Security set to WPA/WPA2 Personal).

Z3 Compact is amazing! But can't get some things to work...

Hi everyone, this is my first Sony phone, which I bought to replace my Galaxy S4. Went this route because of the reported awesome battery life and because I was fed up with such a "big" phone, and wanted somethign smaller. The flagship-speced Z3 Compact was the obvious choice. I've only had it for close to 4 days, and I'm in love. Xperias Android Skin is so much smoother, complete and logical than Samsungs, while the phone is much cooler and premium-feeling. So far there's three things I can't figure out though. 1. By reading, it seems it's a common problem, some reporting some things fixed it, most don't Facebook Events and Birthdays to show up on the Calendar. My Galaxy S4 showed both. I've only managed to have events show up on my Calendar, but can;t figure out why Birthdays are not there, and how to add them. Any solutions? 2. Message/Notification counts. ON the Galaxy S4, Whatsapp and Line, for example, had a little balloon showing the number of unread messages/notification that the app was reporting. On my Z3 Compact, this is not the case, not even with something more "stock" such as Hangouts, which I use as default SMS client. I know it does such a thing, because the Email app does show the amount of unread emails in a orange-yellowish balloon. Help? Other than those two... I adore this phone. Got close to 60 hours of usual usage out of a single charge, with not a single moment of lag, performance drop or Stamina mode enablment.. That's witchcraft, if you ask me. 3. Email app: I can't find an option to have the client always show images by default, instead of always clicking "Show Images" and then "Always show images". Where can I set this up? I can access my Vista PC folders form my MAC but can't see the Docs within

Just got my first MAC and love it.
I do however have loads of files on my VISTA PC that I am trying to access from it. I have set-up sharing so I can see the Vista Machine and Folders from my MAC, however the Folders always seem empty ie. I can open the Vista Folder but can;t see what's in it.
Any ideas?

Is the Vista PC asking for a Password? It should & needs to be setup for one if not.
Also, what happens when in the Finder>Go menu>Connect to Server, and then type the ip of the vista pc in the windows, like...

Bought new Macbook but can't get Aiport Express to work

I just purchased a Macbook and am trying to connect wirelessly to my cable modem using my Airport Express that I was using with my iBook G4.
I had all my files transfered with Migration Assistant and when I opened Utilities under Applications and clicked on Airport Express Assistant I get a message "The AirPort Express Assistant requires AirPort %@ or later."
When I tried using the airport utility, it says that there is no base station found. I'm frustrated looking at the yellow blinking light on the airport express.
Could this mean that my airport express is too old for my new Macbook? It was purchased in 2004.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

The Airport Express is not too old to use with your MacBook - it should work perfectly.
Try running an ethernet cable between the Airport Express and your MacBook, then run the Airport Utility and see if it can then "see" your Airport Express and allow you to configure it.

It is almost as if the program does not exist on my computer. If I search for it, the only thing that comes up is the installer. I cannot find it anywhere despite the fact I have installed it numerous times, uninstalled it and conducted a fresh install, and the Adobe website checks says that it is installed.

Will not work. To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported. The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

You did install the latest iTunes (10.5) right? If the problem was that iTunes does not see the iPod try:

Just posted this reply to 2 others with same sort of question:
I have the same issue as i have my own email address and only want to use.
There are two ways around this annoying problem. The first is to set up your own domain email account alongside your iCloud one, and when you go to send each email tap on From and you get a choice of emails addresses to reply from... ie your own domain or the iCloud one. This is tedious though.
The other is to set up your iCloud email as normal, then create a new one altogether. Choose 'Other' when creating this new account. Then put for the incoming server mail.me.com, along with your user name and password. For the outgoing server put the server you want to use - ie your own domain one. This is therefore a hybrid account and does work.
Now switch off the email for iCloud (leaving on Calendar, Address Book etc). Switch on the email for your hybrid account (which of course is iCloud incoming as well).
Providing you have directed your own domain email address to your me.com one, you will find the iPhone should behave itself and you can use the folders etc and these will synch with your Mac ok.
