It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Did you fail to back up your pics?
The photo sync is one way - comptuer to ipod.
You can e-mail them to yourself (instructions in the manual), but they will not be of the original quality.

My iphone 5 is frozen on the screen that shows a cable and itunes symbol. I can not get the phone to enter DFU mode and itunes does not recognize the phone when plugged in to itunes. The phone was mid update when it was disrupted....

I plugged my iphone in to do an update and it was mid way through the update when the phone was accidentally disconnected. Now the phone is stuck on the screen that shows a cable and the iTunes image suggesting the phone needs to be plugged in to iTunes. I have plugged it in, powered on and off, attempted to enter DFU mode numerous times all with no success. HT1925 My computer no longer recognises my iphone and can't be seen on itunes. My ipod works perfectly on the same computer. rebooting my iphone and PC does not fix the problem.

When I connect my iPhone to my PC it is not recognised and iTunes does not open. When I connect my iPod to the same PC everything works perfectly. I conclude that the problem is not on the PC or with iTunes. Switching off and rebooting the iPhone and the PC does not fix the problem. Any suggestions??

I cannot update it as my itunes on my mac recognize my ipad as a device to sync to.

My guess is you have a very old version of iTunes on your Mac.
Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes on your mac to download a more recent copy.
Depending on how old your Mac is and how old its OS X is, you may not get too current an iTunes version. The latest is 11.0.4.

It needs the user password for the wireless router, that would have been set by whomever installed the router, if that was you then try to find the password. If you can not find the password reset the router to factory default and set it up again.

Did you remove Quicktime X?
On a normal install Quicktime 7 is installed in the Utilities folder and Quicktime Pro in the main Applications folder.
You will need to reinstall OS X to get Quicktime X back if you have deleted it.
I notice yor profile says 10.5.8. Quicktime X is only available on 10.6 and above.

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

To do this in iMovie 11. use the SHARE menu. Share your project using the Share menu and choose Export Using QuickTime.
In the Dialog box that comes up, choose Sound to AIFF, or one of the other sound options. This will create a file that you can drag into iTubes.

After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.
