I have the iphone 4s and its updated (ios 6.1.1). I've always had my group messaging set to OFF. Everytime I send a text to multiple folks, I find out that they were able to see everyone elses responses to me. My boss told me this morning that she saw responses from my friends/family from a picture I sent yesterday. Is there ANYTHING that can be done about this? It's important to be able to send texts to multiple people. I have to update them alot on my husbands illness. Help!
Group messaging simply puts all replies in one conversation in Messages. It doesn't prevent the behavior you experienced.
My suggestion which would be much easier in my opinion, is rather than do a text, send out an email and use bcc: , which will keep the audience hidden from each recipient.
Otherwise, if you're determinted to do only texts, the only way is to send your message to one person at a time. You can of course copy/paste your msg each time which might be helpful.

You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.

I am having the same problem with my new iPhone 5s since I installed the current software 8.1.2 yesterday after activating the phone at a Verizon store in Tucson, AZ. My zip code is 84745.
So far I have no battery problems, but that's probably because I have cellular off except when I need it. I am usually on WiFi at home/work as my old 4s was one of the phones that, after an earlier software upgrade, chewed data up for no reason. -

I have the iPhone 3G and im trying to download instagram and twitter but it's not allowing me to do so because it says I need to update my software. Now when I go to settings then general settings to see if I can update the iPhone . It doesn't give me the option that there is a software update. So what can I do to update my phone
The iPhone 3G can't be upgraded beyond 4.2.1. The over the air update requires iOS 5 or higher, thus you won't see it.

I have iphone 5. Updated to new software a few days ago, but I was having this issue before the update and the update did not resolve the issue.
I can send and receive regular text messages. I can send MMS (photos, videos, etc) but I CANNOT RECEIVE photos in texts. I have read several trouble shooting suggestions, but so far no resolution. I was trying to put more music on my phone, but iTunes said I had to update and restore my phone. The only reason why I update using my computer is because I use up too much space to update using wi-fi, and I'd rather not erase everything to be honest. I started around 5-ish on 1/12/15 and finished around 12-ish on 1/13/15. (I had to keep restarting my computer and phone to get the system update like the troubleshooting website suggested.)The last time I backed up my phone was about a week ago on 1/6/15. But now when I look at my text messages and pictures, everything ends at 1/6/15 as if I never used my phone since then. Honestly, it's really frustrating. I know that you have to back up your phone before updating and everything, but I just wanted to know if there was a way I can get all of my missing stuff back. Maybe I did something wrong?? I'm just hoping there's a way for me to get my pictures and messages back. I don't even really care about the update to be honest lol. Any suggestions would help!!

Just an update it is a hardware issue and very common for iPhone 4s. I have to get my phone rewired which basically means new wireless chip. The amount of money I spent on buying an iPhone I should not expect to have anyway hardware problems happening. Make sure you have a warranty as luckily I've saved myself from spending more money to get this problem fixed.

Try resetting the phone. Hold the home and power lock button until the Apple logo appears.If that does not work, turn the phone off and take the SIM out and then put it back in.
If that still does not work, you may have a defective SIM, in which case you will need a new one from your carrier. -

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.
