So apparently you cannot mention certain words on this community site without having it deleted. SMH The gist of my previous post was just to say that I find it a little beyond frustrating and unfair for Apple to put users of the old iOS system (the one that was installed on my phone when I bought it -6 ) in a situation where they are forced to upgrade to a less than desirable iOS 7 - the look alone of it makes me not want to use it. Is there no other solution that Apple can provide us than to upgrade to 7, install the security patch and wait the lenghty time to do so and hope that nothing is deleted like it has been on my family/friends' devices? Apple please let us who still use iOS 6 to install 6.1.6 on our iPhone 5

You cannot update it if you can't get the latest version of iTunes. Actually, the latest version of iTunes will run in XP if you have Service Pack 2. Also, you posted in the iPad forum, and your profile shows you have an iPad, but in your post, you say it is an iPod. Is it an iPad or an iPod?

Help updated my ipad with IOS 7.0.4. It asks me what language, chooses my wi-fi and then asks.........1 - set up as a new ipad, 2 - restore from iclouds or 3 - restore from itunes but won't restore as not enough memory! What do I do now?

Whats my next move as I CANNOT use the ipas at the moment!!!!!!!!Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

No, as Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod touch

Until you have tried Maps, Music, etc. first hand, I wouldn't formulate negative opinions about them. And updates, if performed correctly, do not erase data.
I presume that last time you updated through iTunes. This time, update over Wi-Fi by going to Settings > General > Software Update. -
I updated my iphone 4s iOS 6 however my app store is now in german. I don't know how to get to back to english & now it won't update any of my purchases. Please help
I also had the same issue (I downloaded IOS6 on my Ipad in Germany, when I was travelling). I could not get into the Settings/ITunes & App Store and log out of my account as the Apple ID was greyed out and nothing happened when I clicked on my user id. I then had to go into iTunes and found that my user id at bottom of the screen in ITunes, click on my user id and assume that the german words meant to log out. I then was able to log back in and English was restored in the iTunes and App store.

I have updated my iphone 4s with the last version IOS 7.0.2.
At the beginning my screen freezing each time I enter numbers or letters (in iphone security code as well as texting in any app)
Now, my wifi and bluetooth are broken. I have tried to activate them 3 days and nothing. I am lost. I have no internet in my telephone plan, so, all my apps are not working anymore.
How can I go back to IOS 6?

HT4623 What's the problem with IOS 7.0.6???
I got an update message last night requesting that I update my operating system to IOS 7.0.6. I proceeded to update my phone. After the phone updated I sent a few text messages and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning my phone was dead. I thought maybe the battery had died, but it's been on a charge for the past 2.5 hours and nothing!!!!! My perfectly working iPhone 5 is now dead!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone heard of any problems and why IOS 7.0.6 is killing iPhones?????
ThanksMy wife and I have 4S's. We both did the 7.0.6 update. My phone is fine but hers is suffering the rapid battery drain problem. It drains in less than 6 hours, and runs warm the whole time. She's tried the hard reset repeatedly, turned off all the background items everyone recommends, been through every suggestion on this board and others. She's narrowed it down to cellular data. As long as that's off, even if using voice phone, battery life is fine. It happens even where she's on wifi so there's no reason for the phone to even be using cell data. And it's not some app running in the background like GPS updating - she's turned them all off, and if she's on wifi but with cell data off, using all kinds of data-hogging apps is fine. Some bug in the 7.0.6 update is causing her phone to run the cellular modem continuously even if no app is accessing data.

Tried to update my iphone 3Gs with ios6. Went to settings, tapped General but don't see Software or anything else that will help me download the new software. Want to do this to set up iCloud for my iphone, ipad and macbook.
open itunes - plug your phone to your computer - itunes should automatically read that your phone needs an update.
You should do a backup of your phone before you update. -

Was the device ever disabled in Outlook Web Access? Does your Exchange server have "throttling" enabled?

I've read that the document format for Numbers has been tweaked to work better with Gmail, Dropbox, etc.
Presumably (I don't have a way to test this) that tweak is not retroactive to iOS7.
Or maybe it is. Perhaps in Numbers 3.5 the File > Advanced > Change File Type (where you are then given a choice between Single File and Package) can save in an iOS7 compatible format.
In any case, I'm guessing that enjoying the full benefits of the new Numbers requires at least one iOS device that can run iOS 8.
