Well, right now, Apple is getting loads of people who are trying to download the new update. My iPod is doing the same thing, so, just wait an hour or two and then try again. It may take a while to veryify the update, and even longer to actually download it. Some people at my school updated their OS in study hall, while others were having the same problem you were. It should be fixed soon, just relax...

No, not normal in any sense of the word(unless your connection is that slow). Could be the servers are getting overloaded as you and everyone else in the world try to download this update. Try again later, like tomorrow.

How are you trying to re-download it, from within the store or the Purchased link ? You should be able to redownload it for free via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.

I did an iphone 4 software update. It then asked me to do a "restore" in order for me to be able to use the latest iTunes. I did a "restore" to "factory settings" (this was the only option listed) thinking I'd be able to sync later and get everything back and ended up losing all my purchased apps and iTunes. When I open iTunes, "Welcome to your new iphone" and it says I can re-do the "restore" and choose my lastest update. I assume this will give me back my apps and iTunes. When i choose to do this, it says there isn't enough space on the iPhone. How do I know how much space needs to be freed up? I keep deleting photos and videos from the phone, but I'm still getting the same message every time I re-try. I don't want to delete everything, but I don't know what to do...? Thanks!
Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...

It says that a speific file had an error while downloading, i tried to download quicktime to think it would fix it, but it gave me the same error

How do I stop the download of Maverick on my MacBookPro? I started downloading then discovered that 2008 Word and Excel do not work with Maverick. I have too many files in the 2008 version to upgrade them at this time. I just need instructions in non technical terms to stop the Maverick download.
I did the same as Tapmr and have paused the "upgrade". So am I to understand that the upgrade only downloads and will not automatically install it? I am an extreme novice here, and cannot afford any issues after I upgrade/download. I don't know how to make a clone copy as you suggested either.
I need assurance that if the upgrade is allowed to continue that I will be able to delete the upgrade downloaded and continue on as before with my regular system. -
I tried to Google a topic but when I clicked on the topic I wanted it posted a popup that said it had to update Firefox, followed immediately with a box that says it can't update firefox as it is running. These two boxes keep popping up as soon as you close the other one in one giant loop. I can only turn it off by shutting down the computer. I didn't have Firefox running when I tried to google the topic.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

I am having this problem too, I have installed photoshop (and dreamweaver) however upon opening it asked me to sign in which i do, it then asks me to either start the 30 day trial or 'license this software' and upon clicking to license the software it asks for a serial number. I have looked around adobes help pages and it states that memberships or subscriptions do not require one!

Yes, this is normal. You are permitted to redownload the installer as many times you want, so that you can transfer this to ANOTHER computer after you download.

CS6 update on new iMac says it'll take 121 hours
I purchased a new 27" imac w/ a 512 gb SSD and 32 TB RAM running Mavericks. Machine flies!
I installed CS6 and went to download the updates. They took 2 hours to DL but it says it'll take 121 hours tp update. WHAT?
It has been two hours later and says 120 hours, at 4.8%.

Don't migrate wirelessly unless you have a very fast wireless connection. Anything other than 5 GHz 802.11n is likely to take an unacceptable amount of time. -

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.
