HT4623 I updated ipad 2 to 7.0.1 and ....... crashes..

Hi all,
I updated ipad 2 to 7.0.1 and it crashes every couple minutes.
even when I'm not using it it continues to restart, then crash and restart?
any ideas people?

(A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
(B) Reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

Try a reset Carole ...
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Cannot update iPad tells me it up to date offers no new upgrades

The original iPad is now 4 years old.
Apple is already on their 5th or 6th generations of the iPad if you include the IPad Mini.
The next generation is coming ssometime this year, again.
This is the plight of the early adopter.
I got over two years out of my iPad 1, I bought an iPad 3 and my wife got the use out of my iPad 1 for over a year before I got her an older, but great shape 64 GB storage iPad 2.
Technologies keep moving ahead.

HT4623 I updated to the latest version wirelessly and now I am being prompted to connect to iTunes When I do I am getting a message stating "Tunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes." WTH!!!

Wont restoring the iPad wipe it? Yes I have things in the cloud but still... why on earth would Apple REQUIRE a complete restore. Im afraid to even do it now because I do not want to lose many many pictures of my little boy, apps, videos and al lthe work Ive done to personalize this ipad.

During a normal install of iOS 7.0.6 this does not happen but something clearly went wrong in your installation.
To fix this, connect to iTunes and restore to Factory. Hopefully your iPad will be working again and you can restore your iCloud backup during Setup.

Updated IPAD 4 to IOS 7-APPs crashing

I update IPAD 4 to IOS 7. All Apps crash 3-4 a day. I have to close all apps, and restart IPAD. That works for hour or so, then do it over again. Anybody got any fixes?

When you are saying "restart IPAD", do you mean the following (what's is posted below? If not, give it a try.
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. My iPad first generation is slow and crashing

MY first generation iPad is very slow and crashes. I have closed all apps, erased cookies, rebooted, etc. i am only using 2.2 gb of 64. Help!

If you have performed all of the basic troubleshooting steps that you have indicated, you should probably backup your iPad, restore to factory settings and then restore the backup to the iPad. If that doesn't help, then restore as new and see if that helps.
You will obviously lose all data when you restore as new, but you can download or sync all of your content back to the device and take it slowly and methodically reloading yoyr content and see if you can pin down one particular app that is causing problems, if any at all.
If that still doesn't help, make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask for those help. I understand that have ways of restoring devices that are a bit more involved than what we as users can do with iTunes.

HT4623 during update ipad went dark and can't get it to come back - it is plugged in

Help my ipad went dark when installing the last update. The battery may not have been fully charged but it was plugged in. It has been 3 hours now and can't get it to come back.

I've owned my iPad 3 since it was issued and now all of a sudden, it will not update my apps. It says I have 4 apps that need updates but the page is blank. I've checked everything in settings and have backed up to the iCloud. Everything else in iTunes is functioning. Any suggestions? (I'm running the latest version of all software and have the 64GB iPad3)

Many discussions on this issue. I contacted Apple. Although they did not admit there is an issue, they gave me a couple work rounds (below) until they correct my issue.
What I am suggesting you do is update the apps directly on your computer, then connect your iOS device to sync the updates over automatically.
On your computer, follow these steps:
-Click View on the top menu bar
-Within the "View" drop down menu choose "Show sidebar"
-You will then notice under "Library" the category "Apps" and a number beside it (this number represents how many updates you have available to you)
-To switch to the Apps area in iTunes 11, select "Apps" from this Library menu. It'll show you a screen full of icons representing each of your apps in the library. Look on the lower right and you'll see two critical buttons ("#" updates available) and (Get More Apps)
-To update your apps, click the "updates available" button. You will then get a full screen view of every app that has an update available.
-You can now choose to update each app individually or choose the "Download All Free Updates" on the top right corner of the screen.
-Enter your password now and click "Get"
-Once the downloads are done, plug in your iPhone or iPad and it should sync automatically, updating all the apps on the device.
Another option is you can also try going into the App Store and go into the purchased page (As if downloading from iTunes in the Cloud), then you can click the "Update" buttons beside the applications requiring update.

Tried to update iPad to iOS 4.3 and it crashed during the update

Now all the screen on the iPad shows is to connect to iTunes. It has the little usb cord pointing to iTunes. Since then I have not been able to get iTunes to recognize it. I have tried restarting my laptop, reinstalling iTunes, and even checked to make sure the iPad showed up under the device manager. Right now it is basically useless. I am running Windows 7 if that matters. Help

Just updated to ios5 iCloud and iPad completely restored. Do I have to pay for the apps I did buy previously or can they be restored? I do not want buy them again!

In iTunes (after signing in) click on STORE>iTunes Store on the left side. Then click on App Store, then on the right side you will see APP STORE QUICK LINKS. Click on Purchased and you will be able to download anything you have purchased before.
