Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

Hello, I live in Montenegro and I bought used iPhone 5 off ebay few months ago. Phone is sim free but I notice really poor battery life. I have to charge it twice a day! Before 5 I used iPhone 4 and I had to charge every night but I could use the phone all day and I was fine with that. You are correct T-Mobile will not touch the iPhone .
If you check the model number in settings>>>general>>>about >>>Model
if you google that number you will find out where the iPhone originated .If an EU country then you would be eligible for assistance in any other EU country
if not then which ever country comes up is the only source of help

Do you have a SIM in the phone? A SIM is required to activate the phone.

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

K, well it says that there is a 3194 error everytime i try to update my iphone on itunes or restore it. I have tried pretty much all the things on the list from here and it is still not working. If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

You only needed to ask this one time. The iPhone 3G can only be upgraded to version 4.2.1 which does not have the ability to do an over-the-air update. You will never see software update in settings on that iPhone.

You don't get the Software Update directly on your iPad until you get it to iOS 5 or later. Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. You'll most likely be prompted to update. If not click the "check for update" button on the summary tab for the device in iTunes. I have Safari version 5.1.10 and Maverick 10.6.8. I see that there is Safari 6 & 7 but when I run a Software Update, it says my computer is up to date.
Those are only for newer Mac OS X versions; you need to upgrade the computer's OS or switch browsers.
To upgrade, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

Just an hour ago I rented "Brave" from İtunes Turkey. After download has been finalized, I wanted to watch it. Unfortnately Movist says that "Movist quit unexpectedly". So I download another movist from app store and I paid also for it but this one also giving the same message. I copied some part of the details of the message below.

I tried to update my apps but the app store is logged into my other apple id. What should I do?
I haven;t been using my ipad lately so I have about ten updates. I tried to udate them but my other apple id showed up. I never used this id with my ipad only on an old ipod. I went to my setting and looged out and logged back in woth my current apple id but the same thing happened. SO I just gave in and tried to update with my old password. Now I have a whole bunch of paused apps on my ipad.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account/Apple ID that was used to download the apps.
The reason you are being prompted for your other Apple ID is because the apps that need to be updated were downloaded with that Apple ID. -

Since there is no "Software Update", you are not yet up to iOS 5. That is where that feature was introduced.
So your only choice is to use iTunes to update your software.
