HT4623 Ipad 1 updates - no iOS6 update?

I am finding that my ipad operating system is not updating. Please tell me that Apple will continue to support.

The latest software that you can run on the original iPad is 5.1.1. Only Apple knows if another software update will be available in the future. Just because the device is not capable of running a new iOS, doesn't mean that Apple is no longer supporting the device. It just means that the current up to date software that you can run is iOS 5.1.1.

You may have to try the above proceedure More than Once...
Some Users have reported that as many as 7 attempts were tried before success...
Also, if the Device has been Modified, this will Not necessary work...

Email won't update after ios6 update

Since I did the iOS6 update, my iphone 4s won't update my emails. Has anyone else been having this problem?

Nataliala, did you delete them completle or shut them off?
Early this morning three of the four accounts started working again. I tried deleting the one account that wasn't working eariled and adding it back in but nothing.
I just tried shutting off all four accounts without deleting them and restarted the iPad. after it was up and running I reactivated the four accounts and everythings working. Hope it stays working!!!

If your iPad is on iOS 3 as your tagline implies then you can update to 5.1.1 via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad via File > Devices > Back Up.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

A first generation iPad can only be upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 and no higher.
If you are still running iOS 4, you cannot upgrade over the air, as that feature was only introduced with iOS 5. You would have to plug the iPad into your computer and use iTunes to upgrade, see:

THat means it wants to be plugged into a computer to use iTunes.

Hi. the title really says it all. My Ipad mini shows updates for 2 apps but none appear in Appstore Update. Have tried a reset, turning off the Appstore app and then restarting but no joy. Any suggesitons appreciated.

This is with iPad 3 after ios6 update...I be already tried resetting the dates and reboot...not working so far...consistently opening iTunesU on click of iTunes icon.

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Sorry to hear your Adobe experience has been less than stellar. I'll try to help...
1. Photoshop 14.2.1 is now two releases out of date. You might want to go to your Creative Cloud application and ask it to install Photoshop CC (2014). Earlier this year Adobe released 2014.0 as a separate install that can live side by side with 14.2.1. Then just a few days ago they released 2014.1 as an in-place upgrade to 2014.0.

If the version of the app in the App Store requires iOS 6+ then you won't be able to download it - only the current version of each app is available in the store. Do you have a copy of the app on your computer's iTunes or on a backup that you can sync back to your iPad ?

Then it hasn't been updated to iOS 6.0.1.

Only the iPad 3 & 4 support mirroring to a Apple TV.
The iPad 2 only supports video out to the Apple TV IF the specific app you're using allows it.
