Here are the steps that Apple recommends that you use to try to fix your issue. If these steps don't work, make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them for help. If it is brand new and it was a corporate gift, I would let your supervisor know that the iPad is faulty or defective.
You should be able to return if it is defective, but you would need proof purchase.

HT4623 iPad Mini - one year old. Plugged it in to charge and now it will not power on at all. I have tried different cables to ensure it was not a faulty cable. What else can I do?

I have an iPad mini that is exactly one year old. I plugged it in to charge it. The next morning it ws completely dead. I can't get it to come on no matter what I try. I have tried a different cable to see if my cable was faulty, but that id not resolve the issue. No matter what I try, I can not get it to power on. I cannot get iTunes, nor my computer to recognize it when it is plugged in.
Has anyone else had this issue? What can I do? Any help would be appreciated!

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. A first generation iPad can only be upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 and no higher.
If you are still running iOS 4, you cannot upgrade over the air, as that feature was only introduced with iOS 5. You would have to plug the iPad into your computer and use iTunes to upgrade, see:

Hi, I'm starting an application with the packager that involve simple slider and the responsiveness of basic example on IPad is just wrong.
A simple program feel unresponsive:

Is it just me or a simple tween can run smoothly within the Air application but everything that interface with the hardware is just delayed and sometime skipped.
Is Adobe committed to improve the touch event propagation speed on IPad? It would be good to know right away if you have improvement on responsiveness performance in a not so far update, or else I would just switch to XCode and stop wasting my time on this toy/prototype tool.
Is there any difference(compilation speed? resulting application being more optimized?) between the standalone packager and the Flash Pro packager?

I am facing the same issue with the TOUCH event management on the iphone, it is just not right. Changing it back to a mouse event did the trick though.
I think the PFI team team knew that this doesnt work properly and that is why they recommended using the mouse events instead of the touch ones in the pfi developer's guide.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

I'd like you to follow the steps below, specifically starting with step 5, resetting the device.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

My iPad 3 camera is unresponsive

I was trying to use my front camera in Skype and Icouldnt get it to work but the back one would. I then went into the camera app which pulled up in the back view and worked. I switched to front view and now the camera is unresponsive. I have done a soft reset and closed the app out of the task bar with no success, and I am wondering if this could be hardware. I see the closed shutter when in the camera. The toggle for switching between pictures and video is still moveable and I can move to my pictures and back but no camera!

Sorry. To me - Soft reset means just restarting the device. There are so many different ways that users describe a reboot/reset/cold boot/hard reboot/hard reset - you name it. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page as to what you had tried.
Anyway, yes it could be hardware. But the only way that you can narrow it down to that possibility is to exhaust all of the software related fixes first.
Did you try closing all apps in the task bar? I know that you closed the camera app, but how about Skype, FaceTime (if you use it) to eliminate an app conflict or app issue.
Restoring the iPad iOS and then restoring from a backup might be worth a try as well.

IPad 2 screen becomes unresponsive during video playback

I just purchased an iPad 2, and one of the first disappointments I've seen is that the screen becomes completely unresponsive during playback of a video with the "Videos" App. This happens after the video has been playing for several seconds. Is there a fix to this problem? My only recourse was to shut down the application; however, the problem is persistent. This means there is NO control of video playback, i.e., pause, FForward, Reverse, Skip???? I have already updated my iPad 2 with the latest OS. What gives???

What quite often works for people with problems with the Videos app are the following.
Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

No, the ipad first gen. will be getting no more updates. Its no longer available in the apple store.

Check out the article below to troubleshoot issues with connecting to WI-Fi. You may want to reset the Network Settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. It will not delete remove any personal data besides and known Wi-Fi networks that you have joined in the past.

HT4623 ipad stuck in recovery mode. How do I fix the issue?

I attempted to update my ipad. I downladed the update to itunes and proceeded to install onto the ipad. The installation failed, and now the ipad is stuck on whats apparently recovery mode. When i attempt to connect the ipad to itunes (on a windows 7 platform) the computer gives the notification that it is connected but itunes wont recognize the ipad. How do i actually put the ipad through a recovery to put an end to this situation?

This should help. You may have to try the process of placing into recovery mode more than once to succeed.

Thanks to all for letting me know the info.
But it's crazy that older ipads are not privileged for the latest OS. It's one thing for h\w tech to not keep up with the latest app's load, but just for the heck of it, keeping at bay the older ipads with new OS is outright greed on part of Apple.
Unless, there is some hardware deficiency of older ipads that they can't handle ios 7.
Thank myself for at least buying an Android phone, instead of getting caught in this overpriced Apple products hype.
