Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

IPad mini mail app display rotation

My iPad mini mail app rotation is locked. No other app or display is affected. How do I unlock? How did it get locked?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I'm pretty familiar with how my ipad works. There appears to be a legit bug with the software, at least for some users. When I load mail, sometimes it's stuck in one orientation, even if the rest of the ipad apps are able to rotate freely. I don't always notice it because sometimes the ipad is oriented in the same direction as mail, but other times it's not and when you start the mail app, the screen loads upside down. Switch to another app, back to right side up and so on. You have to either turn the ipad over, or kill the mail app by double tapping the home button and ending the program from the list of running apps.
After you do that, the mail app starts to rotate again normally when changing the orientation of the device. No reset is required, by the way, as is posted above - at least on mine. Killing the app alone is enough to 'fix' the problem.
I've seen a number of posts where someone posts the 'fix' as a solution to this issue, but I don't consider it a reasonable resolution. Even if killing the mail app works, the problem just comes back a week or two later, very randomly. So then you end up having to do the 'fix' over and over again whenever the mail app flakes out.
So, I'm wondering when Apple is going to actually fix this issue.

My home wifi is working and I can receive mail on my iPad mini but it will not send mail. It gives me a message that says an error occurred while delivering the message. Help?

No I wasn't talking about the email account you are using - I was talking about the email address you are trying to send to....are you having the problem with all email addresses that you are sending to, or a specific one?
And have you tried to send an email to your own email address?
If so, what happens then?

You can't log out of your email account in the mail app on the iPad. That's just the way that the iPad works.
however, I'm not sure what you mean by "if you cut the thing off, it just goes back to AOL mail". Are you saying that if you restart the iPad, the mail app opens again? If you quit the mail app completely it opens again automatically? I just don't understand what you are saying,

IPad Mini mail problems

Mail account with Yahoo is not updating (although it says it has updated) to show new messages (desktop computer shows new messages). Some entries are disappearing after being clicked to read.
In a STRONG signal area, iPad mini indicates strong signal.

Ipad mini mail account

Hi, I have just bought the new iPad Mini, and when I try to set up my pop mail account, it comes back with an error saying that the SMTP server doesn't work with SSL activated, and asks if I want to try with this off. If I select yes, it attempts to verify forever and there's no way to stop it. If I choose no, I can then change the settings of my ingoing and outgoing server details but it still freezes when I hit save and it tries to verify.

Close the Mail app in the Task Bar and re-launch.
Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar. Hold Mail app down for a second or two; tap the minus sign to close app.
If it still doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

IPad Mini mail freezes

The mail on my iPad Mini has frozen 4 or 5 times since I upgraded to iOS 8.0. On these occasions, I cannot open or edit mail. Eventually, after a few minutes - an hour, the mail unfreezes.
Please advise on the remedy.

Does anyone have suggestions?
Is this another iOS 8.0.2 issue to be resolved by Apple?

HT4623 iPad Mini - one year old. Plugged it in to charge and now it will not power on at all. I have tried different cables to ensure it was not a faulty cable. What else can I do?

I have an iPad mini that is exactly one year old. I plugged it in to charge it. The next morning it ws completely dead. I can't get it to come on no matter what I try. I have tried a different cable to see if my cable was faulty, but that id not resolve the issue. No matter what I try, I can not get it to power on. I cannot get iTunes, nor my computer to recognize it when it is plugged in.

I have given an iPad mini as a gift and now he cannot access it bacause his password was forgotten. How can we enable the device from " device disabled" screen?

Connect it to the computer, open iTunes and restore from the latest backup. If that doesn't work try restoring it as new. Then create a new passcode and write it down somewhere and don't tell anyone what it is.

My iPad Mini indicates that there are 10 updates available for download. However, when I click on the App Store icon and click on Updates at the bottom, nothing comes up. What do I need to do? I'd like to update these apps.

HT4623 Ipad mini shows 2 updates for apps but none show in the app

Hi. the title really says it all. My Ipad mini shows updates for 2 apps but none appear in Appstore Update. Have tried a reset, turning off the Appstore app and then restarting but no joy. Any suggesitons appreciated.

Check and make sure those apps are up to date.
You might also want to give your mini a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that helps.
