My ipod suddenly got stuck on the same screen. It shows the itunes circle logo and the cord with an arrow showing to plug in and it wont power all the way down and wont change screen. My pc and my itunes arent even recognizing that the ipod is plugged in

Try the remaining items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Did you do a backup before you did the iOS update. You should always do this in case of problems. Otherwise your data/files my be lost.

I plugged my iphone in to do an update and it was mid way through the update when the phone was accidentally disconnected. Now the phone is stuck on the screen that shows a cable and the iTunes image suggesting the phone needs to be plugged in to iTunes. The iPod's firmware is corrupt. You'll need to restore it again in iTunes. If necessary, place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to recognize the device. Use the instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process of placing the iPod Touch into recovery mode.

I was synching my iphone 4 and unplugged it. It's now stuck on a screen that has the chord and the music note that says itunes under it. I have tried to reboot and have even cancelled my last synching process. My phone is froze. I need help.

You probably have to go through a restore of the phone.
Plug the phone in and launch iTunes, then select your phone from the left side of the menu.
There will be an option to restore the phone and click that button.
That will erase and restore the phone. After it's done, it will ask you to restore from a recent backup, and you can choose to go ahead and restore.
You should be back up and running from there, but may have to do some minor tweeks to get yourself back up exactly as you left off. Some things like your visual voicemail password and email passwords may have to be entered again, but you'll be in good shape.

If you are using XP, and you went through the procedure at the bottom of the previously linked document to change the iPod's assigned drive letter, and you also tried putting it into Disk Mode...
If you have not already, try shutting down your computer and disconnecting all USB devices, including hub. Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected. Just to be safe, put the iPod into Disk Mode again

You'll need to connect in recovery mode to get past the passcode and restore the ipod. After that you can set up a passcode you choose. Log into the ipod after that with the new passcode and deactivate the passcode in the Settings of your device. iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore and iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
