Are there any error messages?
Knowing what you see or are experiencing can help diagnose it.
In the meantime, a common fix, hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can force it to rebood. If you see a silver apple, let go and let it reboot and see if that helps.

    What do you mean your Yahoo mail isn;t working? If you are talking about it not working in the mail app, remove your account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add it again. Then follow the instructions here to recover your Apple ID password.

    Try a couple of basic troubleshooting steps that can apply to any iPad issue.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Quit the mail app and restart. In order to quit or close apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    None of these things may work, but without more specific information, they are a good place to start.

    Ever since I updated to ios 6 on my iPhone 4S, iTunes Match has not worked.
    I have been through the process of deleting my iTunes control files, and that worked temporarily, but now I cannot listen to music through the service.
    It shows my artists and albums, then takes forever to access the songs (often more than 10 minutes - and yes, that's using WiFi), more often than not crashing before it gets to that point, then repeatedly crashing when I try to open the Music App, so I can't even access things I've downloaded.
    Has anyone else found a solution?
    Apple, please listen up - I am paying you for the iTunes Match service that is utterly useless. Fix it please.

    After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery.  I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.

    She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
    After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
    I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-

  • Iphone 5 - Not working and usual options are not correcting the issue

    My iPhone 5 will not start.  I have tried many options listed on this site, however I have been unsuccesful in resolving the issue myself.
    This is an issue that I had last May, which resolved itself after 2 or 3 weeks.  I was discussing this with Apple support but got no answer on how to fix it.  As it 'self fixed' (i.e. I did not do anything new that I was not trying for 2-3 weeks already and the phone just began operating normally) I guessed it was fixed so I stopped looking for a solution to a problem that did not exist any more.
    However, the problem started again last week. 
    That is to say, the iphone powered down and could not be restarted immediately.  I used the 'hard start' option which worked a couple of times, but now it will not restart.  During an 'up' period, I upgraded the software to the lastest public release thinking that this might help.  However, it has not.
    Now, I only get a visual of the USB cord and a message to connect to itunes.  When I connect to itunes it does not recognize the phone but does recognize that there is a software error.  When I try to restore, it does not work as it brings me back to the error message.
    Anyone any ideas?  I am trying to organise the final pieces of my wedding in 6 weeks and I really need the phone to work right now! I will be contacting apple directly in the mean time, but if anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.

    I was orginally asking how to fix it, but I saw those other posts on the right hand side and I guess It was always opened on both.

  • I downloaded and re-installed Adobe Digital Editions so that I could get books from the library and read them on my tablet. It is not working and my tablet cannot open the books??

    What can I do? I am 68 y/o and not very computer literate.  I put an micro SD card in  my computer to copy the books (also some ebooks that I bought from a retailer) onto the SD card so that I could read it on my computer or my ereader by puting the card into the reader (tablet or whatever you want to call it).. HELP

    Please follow the below steps and check:
    1) Right click on the book in library that you want to copy from your computer. Click on the "Show File in Explorer".
    2) Copy/Paste the book from this location to your SD card.
    3) On your tablet open the book from your SD card in your ereader.
        You need to make sure that you authorize your ereader with the same ID with which you authorized your computer. In case you do not remember which ID you used for authorizing your Digital Edition, click     Help-> Authorization Information.

    I don't believe the last Thunderbird update worked, there was a very fast error message. But since then I cannot open jpeg attachments in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. If I go to Tools, then options, the jpeg line is grayed out, and the drop down menu does not show Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. The windows picture and fax viewer still works on my computer, but not for opening attachments.

    I did as you said - deleted the entry for jpeg, but when I tried to open one there is not an option for Picture and Fax Viewer in the drop down, and it can't be found by browsing. It's just not there anywhere even though I can see pics in it except in email attachments.

    I upgraded my computer to 10.8, and now PowerPC applications won't work.  I have Quicken 2006, and I need a way to run it.  Is there a software or anything that I can run it with?  Or can I find the files on my computer somewhere and put them into a newer version of Quicken, such as 2013?

    You can install Snow Leopard on an external disk, then boot to that to use your PowerPC apps.
    Or, you can upgrade the Apps to versions that are Intel or Universal. Quicken 2007 was recently updated to a Universal version--it only took them about five years.

    Most of your purchases content can be downloaded again via the Purchased tabs in each of the store. I realize that this will be a problem for the iTunes Store on the iPad, but that has nothing to do with apps, since apps are in the App Store.
    If you backed up synced with iTunes before you restored the iPad, your content should be in iTunes on your Mac and you should be able to sync it back again.

    Ive repaired 1000s of laptops over the years (translate: diagnose and replace parts).
    Its not that old, Ive owned 100s of laptops (most were free) ....some I still have are nearly 13 years old and still perfect, ....some extremely expensive ones died in under a year.
    other than becoming obsolete at some point, there isnt really any "will spoil on" data like Milk for solid state computer parts, ....alas.
    You can have a $5000 laptop die in 4 months, and a junker one keep kicking after 10 years.... Ive seen that firsthand countless times.
    Common logic dictates that "very expensive = long life" in computers,..... but all the repair people will tell you just the opposite.
    I know you have a gripe, I get that all too well honestly .

    Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
