  • HT4623 I have attempted to update the iOS to 7 on my iPad currently on iOS 5.1.1   When I select general software update, I get the message my iPad software is up to date and does not give me an option to update to 7.  How do I resolve?

When attempting to update my iPad from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 7, I continue to get the message my software is up to date instead of getting a download prompt for iOS 7.  Anyone else experience similar issue?  If so, how do I resolve?

You can't resolve the issue, because the original iPad can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1 and no further.

  • HT4623 I can't update my iPad. I have the 5.1.1 software but it won't give me the option to update to ios7. Any ideas why?

How do I update to ios7 if my iPad isn't giving me the option?!?

If it's a first generation iPad, it can't be updated past 5.1.1. Otherwise, check again when Apple's servers aren't as busy.

How did you erase your account?  A lot of people would like to know.  No one has found a way of erasing an Apple id account.

  • My phone keeps resetting and then shows the icon to plug into itunes but when i do itunes tells me that it can't connect to my phone because it has a passcode and wants me to unlock it to connect. My phone only gives me the option to make emergency calls.

My phone started resetting today over and over and then shows the icon to plug into itunes. When I tried plugging in, a message pops up saying that itunes can't connect because my phone has a passcode and i need to unlock it to connect. my phone won't let me do anything more than make an emergency call. it wont give me the option to enter my passcode to unlock the phone. What can I do?

After a visit to the apple store, they were able to get through my pass code but unfortunately I found out that is was a problem with the logic board. Since Apple only wants to sell and not fix, I was able to locate an iphone repair near me that deals with logic boards and they are currently working on it right now. i should be getting it back soon. Im not sure if the problem you are experiencing is the same as i went through but it does sound like it may be also a hardware issue and would suggest searching online for an iphone repair place that can diagnose what exactly is wrong. Hope this helps.

  • I see how to delete songs from iPad, but there are some that won't give me the option to delete when I swipe it. Why won't it let me?

I see how to delete songs from iPad, but there are some songs that don't give me the option to delete when I swipe them. Why can't I get rid of these songs?

Do they have a cloud icon next to them? If they do, they aren't on the iPad so you can't delete them. They are in iCloud ready for you to download them if you want to and they are visible in the music app for this purpose.
If you don't want to see these songs that are in iCloud, go to Settings> iTunes & App Store>Show all>Music>Off.

  • HT4623 I don't have the option of updating. Why is that? I have an iPad 2

My iPad doesn't give me the option of updating. In the settings it has everything but update.

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • Hi my mini ipad has locked me out and says connect to Itunes but it wont connect to it

Hi my mini ipad has locked me out and says connect to Itunes but it wont connect to it

    Try:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • I misplaced my ipad, so I remotely erased it.  Then I found it, but now I cannot use all of the options in the settings.  I have restored from backup, but it still is not letting me use all functionality.  Help!

I misplaced my ipad, so I remotely erased it.  Then I found it, but now I cannot use all of the options in the settings.  I have restored from backup, but it still is not letting me use all functionality.  Help!

Would throwing it in Recovery mode and restoring as new clear it up?
    (same for Ipad)
Step 1: Turn off the iPhone. To do this press and hold the power button till you see the “Slide to Power off” screen. Now slide the button to turn it off.
In case your iPhone is stuck in an infinite loop and the previous option is unavailable, press and hold the Power and Home button till the screen goes off. Remember to leave both the buttons as soon as the screen goes off and before the Apple logo appears again.
Step 2: Connect the iPhone’s USB cable to your computer but not to your iPhone yet.
Step 3: Now hold down the Home button and while you are holding it connect the USB cable. Keep holding the Home button till you see the Connect to iTunes screen on your iPhone(Screenshot shown below). iTunes will show an alert saying a device in recovery mode has been detected.
Here’s what your iPhone screen will look like once its in the iPhone Recovery Mode.

THEN RESTORE THE DEVICE AND SETUP AS NEW. JUST YOU WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD YOUR APPS AGAIN(FREE) ETC....
