HT4623 My iPad says my iOS is up to date but it's on 5.1.1 and when I want to download certain apps it tells me I need iOS 6.
I have tried to download certain apps and it keeps telling me "this application needs iOS 6 or 7. But when I go to my settings to update software it tells me that it's up to dat and it's on 5.1.1 so what do I do.?
A first generation iPad cannot be updated beyond 5.1.1.
So you won't be able to install apps that require iOS 6 or beyond.

My grandad has a 1st edition iPad and when he tries to download certain apps it says he needs at least iOS 5? Shouldn't this be updated automatically? Or can this be updated another way? I haven't been to see his iPad so he may not be looking properly??? Any helpers???
The iOS version is not updated automatically, though if he connects it to his computer's iTunes (if it's a recent enough version) he should be prompted as to whether he wants to update.
He should connect the iPad to his computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to his computer via File > Transfer Purchases. He may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. He can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
He can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

His iPad should update to iOS 5.1.1 (which is the only version that is 'signed' by Apple for the iPad 1, it doesn't support iOS 6). -

If you have the first generation, there is no way to update beyond iOS 5.1.1.
Newer iPads can only update to the latest software, iOS 7.0.4.

Your iPod2G can only run iOS 4.2.1, looks like all updated apps don't support 4.2 anymore.

Hi, I just downloaded iBooks and I downloaded a book but i wanted to get the hunger games one and they dont Havre it so I erased the app and when I wanted to download another one it just says waiting and it does nothing , CAN YOU HELP ME!
Don't know if there is an option make the download window stay up, but you can bring it back with Ctrl+J then right-click on the download to open the folder it was downloaded to.

im not sure whether this is applicable only to gameloft games, but i tried to dl an app which is only 844MB but i have about 1.7-1.8GB remaining space. The same goes for my iPad too. what can i do?
Generally the installation of apps requires about double the space of the app for installation purposes. Try downloading the app in iTunes on the computer and then sync it to the phone using iTunes.

When an app is free and it asks for account information which is correct why does it keep saying payment type invalid please choose another payment type.?
Maybe check with your bank and see if everything is ok with your account.

It's not a matter of changing the country. The issue is your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

That error means you're trying to purchase content in a country where such content is not sold by Apple, & Apple's servers have detected your location, generating that error code.
There is no workaround. -
purchased 200 GB but only manage to use 5GB balance shows 195GB but could'nt download the games app and others....notifixation show no enough storage.
You have purchased Cloud storage. The lack of storage is on the iDevice. You will need to move/delete content from the iDevice to make room for new content.

Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content. If you restrict certain content, apps that contain that content can't be installed.
