My iphone has freeze during IOS 6.0 update.

Is it frozen or does it display the 'connect to itunes' screen? if that's the case, you need to restore it through a computer with itunes on it

  • IPhone 4 froze during iOS 7.02 update

I just attempted to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 7.02 (from iOS 7) and had the phone freeze up during the verification of update process.
After disconnecting the phone from my laptop it wouldn't even allow me to power down the phone for a few minutes. I finally got it to power down and reconnected it to my laptop via USB sync cable and was advised by iTunes to restore the phone.
After restoring and updating the phone now runs "fine" (iOS 7 is just a little to much for my iPhone 4 I think) though rather slow.
    Current version iOS 7.02 (11A501).
Planning on updating to the 5s pretty soon.

    No,you're wrong....
    there is iOS 7.2
I updated my iPhone 4S few hours ago !!!!!!
Yesterday appeared a notification on my iPhone 4S for iOS update.
What I remember is first version of update 7.1 which was around 23 MB. I updated to the 7.1. After that appeared another version for update which was 7.2. So, I updated again to the last version which was 7.2. After finishing the update, the iPhone was restarting and turned off !
When tried to turn it on, it does not worked and appears a message (Picture message) that connect your iPhone to iTunes. When I connected to iTunes, it says you should restore yours to its original settings !!!!!!!!!
What the he**l is going on ? If I restore it, I would lose all my datas !!!

  • IPad2 freezes during iOS 5.1 update

Problem:    iPad2 freezes up before iOS 5.1 upgrade can complete
Solution:    Try a different USB port
Sounds ridiculously simple but figuring it out was anything but. Followed
all instructions to update my 64GB/3G/iPad2 to iOS 5.1. Thankfully this
included a complete backup before starting the process. Everything appeared
to go normally until, at the very end, iTunes displayed an error informing
me the update did not successfully complete.
Tried the standard trick for restarting iPad. Held the HOME and SLEEP/WAKE
keys down simultaneously for 10 seconds no fewer than ten times but iPad
always came back with the graphic of a USB cable pointing toward an iTunes
icon and was otherwise totally unresponsive.
I finally called Apple. James in their Nashville call center had me try the
"prep for reset" procedure. This involves holding down the same two keys but
releasing them in sequence. When the screen goes black you release the
SLEEP/WAKE key but continue holding the HOME key until the Apple logo
appears. This process is supposed to inform iTunes that iPad needs to be
reset to factory defaults. It probably did what it was supposed to do but
iTunes (for Windows) 10.6 couldn't see iPad so it didn't fix my problem.
Tried unplugging iPad and restarting Windows. Windows hung on the shutdown
screen and the PC had to be power-cycled but then restarted normally. Still
no joy for iPad, though. Same symptom. James was about ready to have me
download and re-install iTunes but we stopped just short of what would have
been a time-consuming P.I.T.A. He suggested I plug iPad into a different USB
port and, voila, iTunes found iPad and we were off the races. The restore
took 5-10 minutes after which I restored the backup I made beforehand and
    iPad was fully functional.
Life is good. I get to spend the evening tinkering with GarageBand and I
feel uncharacteristically lucky I landed in James' queue. The experience
convinced me to buy an AppleCare extension. Had this happened a month from
now I would have been S.O.L.

I messed around with it for a while with no luck so I went to my local ATT store and dealt with my gal that has been helping me since the mid 90s.  She plugged it into her PC and luckily  it showed up on her iTunes so we did a full restore on her PC.  Once the full restore was complete we plugged into my PC and my iTunes finally acknowledged it.  So I chose the option to restore from prior backup (the one that I did right before I attemped the iOS update).  It went thru and did the restore from backup like it was supposed to but when it rebooted it wanted to set the phone up again.  I tried the restore from back up two more times, but the same outcome.  So finally I told it to just set up as a new phone and it finally let me get all the way into iTunes. Unfortunately I then had to redo all the foldering and everything on my phone, but luckily I did not lose anything to my knowledge.
I have yet to update my iPad 2.  Time will tell if I will have to go thru everything again.

  • IPhone 4 crashed during ios update (5.0.1) and won't restore. anyone know how i can get my iPhone working again?

iPhone 4 crashed during ios update (5.0.1) and won't restore. anyone know how i can get my iPhone working again?

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 for details.
Then you can restore your phone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

  • I have not updated my iPhone 4 since the IOS 5.1 update. Can I now update it with the latest software even though I am missing other updates?

I have not updated my iPhone 4 since the IOS 5.1 update. Can I now update it with the latest software even though I am missing other updates?

When going to your software updates on your device it will provide you with the latest available update for your device.
the iPhone 4 will update to iOS 7.0.4 provided all other updates the device is asking for has been completed.
    Good luck friend.

  • IPhone 4 Freezes during WiFi use (iOS 6)

    Hi,
Every time I use WiFi on the iPhone it freezes. It connects normally, loads the app (mostly facebook, I have to check some messages) and then the screen freezes. It doesn't respond on on touch commands. I can lock it, press the home button and exit the app, but the screen is still frozen. I am not able to close the app and turn off WiFi. I have to wait a few minutes, every time the amount of time is different, and then I can use the phone for a few seconds and manage to close the app and turn off WiFi. After that the phone works normally. One time I wasn't able to even unlock the phone for 30 minutes so I had to walk away of the location and lose the connection to be able to unlock and use the phone. I don't know if it's only a WiFi problem or are some apps the problem, because I mostly run some apps during WiFi use.
Is anybody familiar with this kind of behaviour? Does somebody know how could I fix this and is it a hardware or, hopefully, a software problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I was only able to restore the phone after booting into Windows and using the Windows version of iTunes. Kinda pathetic.

  • HT4623 Reminders won't work after iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 5?

I updated to the new iOS 6.1 update last night. Went to make a reminder through siri and i get to the point were it asks to confim. When I press confirm Siri tells me that she can't do it. I try to set a reminder manually and the app does not give me the option to add a reminder manually. Everything worked fine before the update when my iPhone 5 had the 6.0 iOS?
Any ideas on what the problem coulb be? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    GS47

The problem is more than likely being cause by corruption that occured during the iOS install or in the backup that was used to restore the phone after the update.
    Standard troubleshooting is:
    Re-boot the phone
Restore the phone from your backup
Restore the phone as a new device.
One of the 3 should fix the problem.

  • HT4623 My iPhone 4 freezes and has now shut down since doing the update this past Saturday.

My iPhone 4 freezes and has now shut down since doing the update this past Saturday.

    Hi candybooist,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take if your iPhone is unexpectedly powering off:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Cheers,

  • My iPhone is freezing during the "veryifying iPhone"

  • Why is my iPhone 5 freezing since the last software update?

My iPhone 5 started to freeze after the last software update for iOS 7.1.
It started shortly after when I noticed my timer would freeze and I wouldn't be able to turn it off once the alarm sounded at the end.  Usually I can reverse the freeze by pressing the off button.
However, this morning I visited several webpages embedded in emails and after about the 5th webpage, the phone locked and the last webpage I visited lightly flashed and kept recycling.  Pressing the off button didn't help this time.  I finally plugged it in to recharge and after an hour or so, it returned to the normal menu settings after putting in my password.
The problem seems to be getting more frequent.
Has anyone else had problems with their iPhone 5 freezing?

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that first and it didn't bring up the apple logo as it should have.
I haven't tried "restore" yet but I guess that will be my next move when it freezes again.
(Several friends have mentioned their iPhones are freezing now too after the last software update so this problem could get bigger.)

  • IPhone 4S and this iOS 7.1 update - wifi issues

Well first it happened to my wife's 4S on iOS 6 updates, and now me on iOS 7.1 update - lost the wifi capability on my 4S too.  I've looked through the various posts on these forums of people suffering the same problem over and over and over again.  "Mr Apple" if these updates are not compatible with certain devices then at least have the common decency to tell us so.  I for one have had enough of sticking iPhones in the freezer every other day, and I'm certainly not going to do that with two broken 4S's now.  So I'm off to the Samsung store to buy a Galaxy.....  nuff said......

    Hi,
I have an IPhone 4 and I updated it to IOS 7.1 about a week ago and since this update the IPhone keeps on rebooting every time I use apps such as Facebook, Twitter or Whatsapp. It is very annoying to see your IPhone reboot twice or more times a day while you are working and it seems that a plausible solution is to go back to the previous version of IOS. If you have a different solution, please let us know because I'm not the only IPhone user with this problem. Thanks!

  • IPhone 3G freezing up after 3.1 update

I have three iPhones in my house hold. I update all of them 3.1 at the same time. Tow of them are 8 gig 3g models and the third one is a 16 gig 3GS. Since the update to 3.1 there are times the phone freezes up at random. It will not respond at all. Just a black screen. You can not power it down to do a reset. I will just have to let it sit. Sometimes 10 minutes up till 2 hours before it will come back to life. At times it will not make or receive phone calls or text messages or it freezes up on an app and you cant do anything with it other than leave it alone. Battey life since the update on both 3G models is half of what it was prior to 3.1. Not sure what causing this issue. Does not seem to affect the 3GS as much. More prone to the 3G than 3GS. I have tried a rest, restore and even erased phones like they were new and downloaded every app and song like it was the first time. No help. My daughter had a flat last tuesday night and her phone would not function at all. This bug needs to be corrected ASAP. I can not rely on a phone that is not going to function at random or in an emergency situation. My daughter was frantic and could not get in touch with anyone to let us know she needed help. Phone was a paper weight at that time. She had to walk to a store and call me from a land line. Apple- Fix the problem. My daughters life could be a stake and were relying on a cell phone to stay in contact when shes not a home. Is'nt that what we have cell phones for? To be able to place a call anytime needed? Can someone tell me if Apple is taking this issue serious? This is crazy. Phones freeze up at random 3-5 times a day since update to 3.1.

I have kind of the same problems here... after the 3.1 update my iphone started to fail in several aspects... the displays freezes up, does not respond at all. I cant turn it off or on, it wont respond even after trying to reset. Sometimes I have to wait up to 1 hour for it to come back. At times it wont receive calls, drop calls, wont get txt messages. I went to Claro (carrier en GT) and they couldnt provide me with a solution, however offered me a new iphone 3GS... yeah right, some solution.
This problem WAS NOT caused by me, I have not jailbreak my iphone and I have used itunes to perfom updates all the time... APPLE need to solve this problems ASAP with a new update version or a patch, something...
Does anybody managed to fix this kind of problems? what should I do?
