HT4623 My iPhone 4S has frozen in settings.

Hope someone can help. I was going to update to iOS but decided not to yesterday. When I went to update today when I go into settings the screen has frozen in terms and conditions page. The page is now unresponsive, how do I close page?

Found answer! Just pressed sleep and home button together and released when Apple logo appeared- should have thought of that!! All ok now

My iPhone 4 has frozen in my settings, while I was trying to update to the iOS 7. What should I do?

Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears
The servers are overloaded. There are a hundred million people all trying to download iOS 7 at one time. I would give it some time and try again later

Try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power button, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes.

  • My iphone 4 has frozen. I can not slide to unlock nor shut the phone down. It flashes the apple logo from time to time but will not respond to the touch screen.

My iphone 4 has frozen while I held the button down to try and access voice command. Now it will not allow me to slide and unlock. Won't respond to the shut down button on top nor any touch screen commands. The apple logo appears from time to time but mostly it shows my wallpaper and the time. Can you help me out ?

Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • My iPhone 3Gs has frozen and I can't do anything except turn it off by hard boot. When I plug it in, I have the apple icon and that is all. It was at 43 percent battery life when it happened and my Twitter app was giving me problems. Thoughts?

  • My iphone 4 has frozen

my iphone 4 has frozen to the screen with the apple logo and progress bar below it just after the ios 7 update, please help

    Thaw it out.
Just kidding.  Hold the home button and the on/off switch simultaneously, past the prompt to turn off and let go only when you see the Apple logo.  This can take ~20 seconds.

  • Iphone 4 has frozen how do i fix it

My iPhone 4 has frozen whilst resetting. How can I fix it?

Thanks very much for your very helpful post, Chris. Today my iPhone 3GS froze just after I took a photo.  Pressing the sleep/wake button or the home button got no results.  I went by the Apple Store, but couldn't get an appointment until tomorrow.  The scheduler at the store offered no suggestions.  After I got home, I found your suggestion about pushing the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously. Viola!  It worked.  You're the genius!  What a simple solution to a scary problem.  I wish all troubleshooting efforts with electronics were that easy and that successful!  Many thanks.

  • HT4623 my iPhone 5 is frozen

My iphone 5 has frozen while doing the latest update.  It's been over 3 hours and the status bar isn't even at 1/4 percent.  What can I do?

Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with Lightning Cable. Hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. If there are any problems with this, you have 1 year Warranty with Apple. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

A reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

2 days ago i dropped my phone in water and immediately got it out and tried to dry it off.
I switched off the phone and left it in un cooked rice for 48 hours, i switched it on today and everything seems to be working fine.. apart from... the phone keeps switching itself off and re-booting every 5 minutes
i have since taken the back case off, dried it, put it back together and left it to dry out even more.
does anyone know what else i can do? or what the excate problem is that is causing it to switch off and re boot every couple of minutes?
The problem is that it got wet while it was under power, this most likely will have caused a short between parts of the circuitry that normally are separated. It may (if you stop using it while there is some moisture left inside it) revert to normal operation, frankly I doubt that very much.
Take it to Apple for diagnosis, you can avail yourself of a 'non warranty replacement' while you are there, if needed.

  • My iphone 3g has frozen. how do i repair it?

hi, my name is neil... and i have an iphone 3g that suddenly has frozen...
i just want to know how can i repair it? the only thing i can do is to switch off or on the iphone...
i need to know how to repair it... please help me.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?
If none of the above resolves the isse, then it is time to take the device to Apple for evaluation.
