HT4623 My iphone iphone will not activate, message given is "Iphone activation cannot be completed right now, please try again later"
My iphone will not complete the activation after i upgraded the software, Keeps saying activation cannot be completed because server cannot be reached, please try again later. Help!!
Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. -

Click Security
Show Cookies
Type "apple.com" in to top search field
Select All
Click Remove
Click Done
Repeat the above to confirm they are gone (mine took two attempts)
Choose Update Genius again in iTunes.

First take the steps recommended in this support article. If there's no change, continue as follows.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk. -

Please help?Also the 1st gen device was discontinued awhile ago, since it runs on a different OS compared to the newer models it hasn't received any updates for 3 or 4 years now. There would be no update to check for.

I've used Facetime on my MacBook Pro a bunch of times but today it's not connecting. It is giving me this message: "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later." Has anyone encountered this same error and come up with a fix?

Installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo may help this.
Restart your Mac after installing the combo then try downloading Lion.
It's ok to install the combo even though you are already running v10.6.8
BEFORE you do this make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OSX v10.6.6 or later (V10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available spare
