Hey Ahmed Zaza, it's the RAM. iOS 7 requires 512MB of RAM. your iPod 4 only has 256MB of RAM. Currently only the iPod 5 has 512MB of RAM, and there is no way to increase the RAM. Sorry.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

- Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

I had an ipod nano and itunes work fine, i bought new ipod touch 4G and connected it to itunes and get a message that say this ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install itunes again. i have done this 3 times with latest itunes but still the same message ad ideas? Any help would be appreciated thanks

my daughter tried to install IOS 8 on her Ipod touch, but the Ipod blocked on the Apple ID or password. We re-initiated a password and it still doesn't work, now it says that the Apple ID is not correct. When I connect the Ipod with Itunes, we get the message that it cannot make a connection with this IPHONE (it is a IPOD) because this device isn't no longer connected?? IPod touch 3g can't complete iOS 5 setup because wifi is off

I just updated my iPod touch 3g with iOS 5. Everything worked fine, until I got to the "Restore Completed" part that you actually perform on the iPod.
After enabling the Location Servcees, I am asked to sign in with my Apple ID or create a new one. Both of these options do not work however, because the wifi on my iPod is currently turned off.
This might be a silly question, but I can't seem to find a way to quit the setup menu and reaturn to my homescreen in order to turn the wifi on?

Ever since I've updated to iOS 6, the AppStore has been a memory hog and crashes when it loads 25 more results after the initial 25 that gets searched. If I don't kill all the apps and reboot before I search the AppStore, it crashes before I can view any of the initial results. I use an app called AppShopper to search the AppStore.
Before I update to iOS 6.0.1, will it solve this problem or make it worse?

Thar is correct. Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple. If you try you will get the 3194 error.

. As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

Check out the other ios 5.1 installation error posts, using search terms like "can't install ios 5.1." I found one that helped me. There are several fixes that appear to work, such as changing your DNS #'s on your device, rebooting your device and trying again, and so on. Personally, I have the same device as you and I restarted the device. Then I installed 5.1 from the device. It didn't work from my Mac previously, but it worked from the device. I did have to download it first on the Mac, but once downloaded you have the choice to install from your device as well (if you have home sharing turned on between your Mac and iPod). I had a "1" under updates on my iPod (which was for the firmware update). I just chose to update from the iPod and it worked.
If you don't know how to do a reboot of your iPod, just hold the power and home buttons in until you see the Apple logo. Then you can let go and wait till it reboots.

If you're getting the message using the device's Software Update function, it's a third generation iPod touch and can't be updated past 5.1.1.
If you're using iTunes on a computer, it's either as above or the version of iTunes being too old.
