Apple does not sell insurance. You have a warranty for the device from Apple. That is good for 30 days unless you purchase an extended warranty.

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be contacted and erased, though it depends on a number of factors: the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled. Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. Note, though, that once you erase the iPod, there wont be any way to track it, so you probably will want to note any location information it gives you first so you can give that to the police.
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track nor erase it remotely. If you had a screenlock passcode set, though, then the thief or whoever they give or sell the iPod will will have to restore it to use it, and that will erase everything.

It's gone.
The downside of the 'find my' app is that your device needs to be online, and it is an app that can be defeated within minutes by any thief that knows what they're doing.
Hopefully you've already protected your data, changed passwords etc.
Chances are your iPad has been wiped and sold and it's gone.
You can or should have reported the theft to the police. You might get lucky. -

Should I report to police? I did called ATT again, and they told me that they cannot do anything, since the SIM card might have been replaced.
Doesn't hurt to call the police.
The SIM wasn't replaced; if it were, you wouldn't have been able to locate it. -
My iphone5 was stolen last night. It is offline and I am trying to track it. Icloud states that it will show a grey circle if it is offline and a green one if it is online. It is offline and it will display nothing except a picture of a phone indicating that it is offline. Not helpful at all. Any suggestions on how to locate the phone or at least the losers who stole it from my pocketbook.
Actually it is very helpful. First it tells you that two possible scenarios happened.
1. iphone ran out of battery.
2. iphone was stolen by someone who knows how to disable connection to service (just by turning it off or otherwise)
Second is more likely if you went to icloud.com fast enough. In that case we pretty soon are going to see another person here asking Apple to unlock "legitimately" purchased phone from eBay or pawn shop. And in that case recovery of your phone is very unlikely. So go report it to police to increase chances of recovery, just in case they turn up in legit pawn shop and move on. Good luck. -

And is it possible that my phone will be back to me? Need some piece of advices from you guys.....At this time, it will be very difficult to try to locate your phone. If you had find my phone turned on, you could try going to iCloud.com to try to locate it but it would have to be on and connected to a wifi signal. As I said, the fact that it has been 2 weeks now will make it difficult to find it.

But iCloud still shows that it is logged in with my Apple IDIf your phone was stolen an didn't have Find My iPhone turned on the first thing I would do is change your Apple ID password. Immediately after that I would change the password for every app and web account that resides on the iPhone.
When you get your new replacement iPhone make sure that Find My iPhone is turned on and you have a good passcode set up to prevent unauthorized folks from gaining access to your device. -

Apple warranty does not cover damage or stolen or lost articles. Only manufacturing defects.
You need to talk to your insurance company if you covered the iPhone under a policy with them. -

my IPhone 4 was stolen 1 week ago, but i have locked it 3 minutes after it was being stolen. Today i got a message that it has been locked. I am now wondering if someone can "overrule" this lock. I think you cannot connect it to Itunes to reset it, when it is locked. Is that right? What can i do about this issue?

mallezeQuick go to https://www.icloud.com/#find to see where the phone is located. It can easily be reset to factory settings with iTunes if the thief plugs it into their computer.

My iphone 4 got stolen two weeks ago. It was off because of down battery therefore i could not track it by app find my iphone but i immediately blocked it and report to police. The remote block of the iphone remained pending for one week (I learnt phone has to be on for such an action to be completed) and then I received email from app find my iphone that my phone was finally blocked. I check in app find my iphone to see if i could located and there the surprise! Instead of MY apple ID appears a new one! Does it mean somebody reset my iphone? What can I do knowing this apple ID? Please help! I forgot unfortunately location service has been disactivated.
Thank you for your reply, I checked the status of my apple id and nothing has changed. My iphone was off when it got stolen and short after I sent remote lock by find my iphone. Maybe somebody connected to itunes and tried to do a set up using his own apple id? I would like to understand what's goin on and if this apple id can lead us to the thieve!
