HT4623 need help restoring iphone to the old IOS6
I have put my phone into recovery mode and need to downgrade from IOS 7 to IOS6 but when in Itunes it is asking to update iphone and indicating that I will loose all data and media. CANT loose my recent photos!!! What do I do?
If you did not backup the phone, or import the pictures to the computer, yes.
Remember, you purposely put the phone into Recovery mode. You did it to yourself.

Need help restoring contacts from the cloud on my iPhone 4s.
Before I upgrade to IOS 6, I would like to restore my phone and start fresh. I've been backing up my iPhone with each upgrade I get every year and running off the same backup. I continue to get weird issues that I think could be solved by starting from scratch. The only data I want carried over are my contacts. Is it possible to get my contacts back on my phone without restoring from a backup? I wasn't quite sure how the Contacts work via the cloud, and I'm afraid to restore my phone without knowing this first. Thanks!
Sorry. Maybe I didnt explain my question properly. When I go under ICloud on my phone, I have an option to sync my contacts. Currently, I have the Contacts set to on. If I completely restore my phone and then sign in with my apple ID, will I be able to get my contacts back on my phone? From what I've been told in the past, the only way to get contacts back on your phone, is to restore from a backup via ITunes on your PC. I'm hoping that's changed.

Need help restoring iPhone 4s to an older backup file instead of most recent backup
My year old iPhone 4 was stolen a few months ago, bought the new 4s in November, but due to a broken laptop screen i could not restore the new phone to my backup on itunes. Finally had the laptop fixed and I accidentally backed up the 4s, which only had maybe 1/8th of the numbers and contacts i had in my previous phone. I'm in dire straights without the rest of these contacts.. How do i restore to an older backup copy of my old phones data?
Im running windows 7 and i found access to a file folder that looks like an overall backup file with several different backup files from different dates within:
C:\Users\<my_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
There are multiple files inside that backup folder but only two are relevant to my issue and they read as follows:
C:\Users\<my_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\0d7dbdee01749f0c89aa0fb2512304dc33afbee8 (most recent; backed up 1/6/2012)
C:\Users\<my_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\1ed0d70a016d0db33221c560087e559908677a60 (backup file i want to restore to; backed up 7/7/2011)
How do i restore my phone to the backup file from this past july, and not the one from today?Your getting into dev stuff there. stop. Right click on your iPhone name in iTunes on the left hand pane, select restore from back up and select an older back up.

I have changed my Apple ID name and I want to change it on iCloud, however I am not able to delete the previous account because I need to turn off the Find my iPhone - and for that I need to log in with the old name and that is not working. Help anyone?
