  • HELP PHONE NOT CHARGING FROM WALL ANYMORE!!!!

I had this problem last night i was checking my yahoo e-mail and preceded to download a picture to my e-mail as the picture was downloading the iphone locked up i was unable to do anything not even power the iphone off or get back to home. all i did was wait for the battery to drain down ( because the picture i was downloading was frozen and the light on the iphone stayed on) once i got home and plugged the iphone back in to charge ( beacuse battery went dead) the apple logo showed up and the phone seemed to be back to normal so i thought the only way it will charge now is if i have it hooked in to my IMAC. the icon for charging is working while hooked up to the mac but for the **** of it i tried charging from the wall (tried different outlets that all work) and the thing will not charge. it will only charge from the computer only why is this please help someone

Same thing happened to me. Suddenly, I could not charge from the wall outlet. To test it, I also tried to charge my iPod from the unit and it didn't work. Went to Apple Store and got a new USB wall charger, even though the Genius guy gave me a hard time and was convinced nothing was wrong with my charger. He exchanged it, I took the new one home and it works perfectly.
I have read that other people's chargers are defective, too. Hope this helps.

  • PHONE NOT CHARGING FROM WALL OUTLET

The phone charges in the car but it will not charge with a wall outlet

Troubleshoot it.  Is the iPad 2 charging from USB port computer?  Maybe try a different cable?  Make sure you wall outlet is even working?  ;-)   j/k   All else fails take it to Apple Store like Texas Mac Man said.  If you have Applecare warranty.  They will replace it.

  • Uk iPad not charging from computer

    Hi all,
I tried to charge my iPad from my brand new Mac mini (latest one) and whilst the battery icon on the iPad says its charging it in fact does not. If iPad is as 80% charge then it will just stay at 80% never going any higher.
The supplied charger works well and quite quickly, so I am guessing that the Max mini does not supply enough current to the device - can anyone offer any advice ?

The iPad has to be off in order for it to charge through USB. When I connect my iPad to my laptop the charge level stays the same unless I turn it off. I don't remember if the same thing happens when using the wall charger.

  • IPad2 not charging from computer

When I plug my iPad2 into my computer to sync and download.  It doesn't charge.  It's not a problem as it charges from the wall plug, but I was just curious why it doesn't.  My iPhone charges from the computer

    Charging Tips
The quickest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter. When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode. Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

  • Phone wont charge from computer

my  iphone 4 wont charge from my computer and also i cant get to my pix and videeos cause its not picking up on my computer

Does it charge with the wall charger? If so either your computer has a problem or you are using a USB hub.

  • Ipad 2 not charging via USB after IOS 7 update

I have recently update my i Pad 2 to IOS 7.
The update has completed sucessfully with no issues but I have now found that the iPad nolonger charges via USB. When plugging in the 30 pin cable the chargin icon flashes and then switches to not charging. If I plug in the AC charger it all works fine.
The cable that I am using is the original cable, I have read in the forums that there is some issues with IOS 7 and uncertified cables. Is the original Apple 30 pin connector uncertified ?
    Thanks in advance.

Normally, they don't. There are some out there that do have enough power to charge a full sized iPad.
It is very possible that whatever they did to the firmware to make it detect different cables could have affected how it charges. I know prior to 2011 the ipad used to send more power to the port which allowed people to plug in keyboards etc, but a 2011 update changed that, so it's not unprecedented.
Have you tried to give your iPad a reset? Sometimes if that port has issues it 'turnes off' and it takes a reset to turn it back on. Hold down the sleep and home keys until it reboots. Try again and see if that helps.
Other than that, if Apple has decided to change the configuration there's not much users can do but alter their behavior to fit in with what the device allows.

  • Phone doesn't show up after new software update

After dowloading the new software I am unable to see my phone when connected to the computer. I'd like to transfer music and pictures but now I can't. Any idea how to get my phone to show back up in iTunes?

First, click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen then click Software Update...
If the system is up to date, try reinstalling the AMDS...

And if you have anti virus software installed, disable that before connecting the iPod to your Mac.

  • WMV video windows do not appear in Mail after new OS update (Sep 16)

Prior to the update for OS and Quick TIme, Flip4Mac wmv player showed the video movie windows in the view mail window. Clicks played them. Updated the iBook G4 yesterday, today mail will not show the video window although the controller bar shows. When the play button is clicked, the video will not play, but the audio does. Quick TIme Player still plays WMV files outside of mail.
Quick time OS 10.5.5, Safari version 3.1.2 (5525.20.1), Flip4Mac 8 Sep update, Quick TIme Player Version 7.5.5 (249.13).
Is it possible that the Flip4Mac player did not transfer to Quick TIme Player for Mail? Or is not compatible?

Yes it was much better to view .wmv in apple mail directly. I found a workaround without leaving mail. Just control click on the control bar of the attached movie and select Open with -->WMV Player.app
It's still a nuisance until Apple Mail or Flip 4 Mac is fixed.

"i have followed all of apples advice!!"
No idea what this means, unless you say what you have tried. When you say that you have tried "all", it really does not encourage anyone to make suggestions.  If you have tried it all, then, by definition, there is nothing left to try.

  • IPhone will not charge from wall socket only from Laptop or Computer!

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
My IPhone will charge sometimes and sometime it wont:
I mean like sometimes it will charge from the wall socket and sometimes it wont!
It will go so far as to turn off because of no battery life! Then I plug it in to the Laptop and it starts charging!

I have had this problem for some time. It applies to both a wall charger (the one that came with iPhone and a third-party model) and a car charger (third party). Both wall and car chargers are rated at 1000 ma which should be enough power. Yet when the battery charge goes below a certain level the phone will not charge from wall or car charger, but it will charge from a computer.
I did some research on USB power. Per specification, a USB client (the iPhone) cannot draw more than 100 ma from the USB host (charger or computer or hub) unless it asks for and gets permission to draw more current. (This is so it does not interfere with other USB devices connected to the host.)
Inexpensive wall chargers do not contain any computing elements. They short the D+ and D- lines together. This makes it impossible for a client to negotiate a higher current draw, so the iPhone, working per the USB standard, limits itself to 100 ma. When connected to a computing device such as a computer or USB hub, the iPhone can negotiate a higher current, up to the 500 ma currently allowed by the USB standard.
This begs the question, why can't the iPhone charge on 100 ma when the battery is almost completely discharged? After all, when the battery has more charge, the iPhone will charge nicely from a wall charger. Perhaps someone has some insight into this aspect.
There is evidently a new USB standard for wall chargers that will fix this issue. Both the host and client must implement in order for it to work. (I haven't read the standard, but suspect it involves the client detecting that the D+ and D- lines are shorted together.) Obviously, either the charger or my iPhone 3G don't comply with this new standard. Maybe the iPhone 3GS does? Or maybe we have to wait for another iPhone model that has the hardware that complies with the new USB wall charger standard.
Meanwhile I have to be careful not to fully discharge my iPhone battery when I am away from a computer. I recently went on a 30-day trip and had no problem because I charged the phone every night. Of course, I did not use it much because it was an international trip and AT&T roaming rates are horribly expensive.

  • New iPad 3 will not charge from a mac. need help on that

my new ipad 3 will not charge from a mac. need help why if any one knows? thk

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • TS4036 My camera roll will not restore from iCloud after updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. It shows I have 1.7 gigs of photos stored on camera roll but none are appearing on my phone. Everything else restored from iCloud.

My camera roll will not restore from iCloud after updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. It shows I have 1.7 gigs of photos stored on camera roll but none are appearing on my phone. Everything else restored from iCloud. When I go to iCloud.com my photostream is not there.

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC
    Hope this helps.
