when syncing with itunes, got error message saying had error and now ipad2 will not do anything other than showing the USB cable with arrow pointing to Itunes on screen. have done the reset and restart, but still get same thing. Ipad does not show up in itunes even though cable plugged in. Have shut down and restarted Windows 7 computer.
I had done all of that to no avail. I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again. I had tried switching the USB port at the front of the machine but that had not helped. Everything is good to go again. thanks for your reply

Was updating my ipad with a new version of ios without it was plugged in and now it is showing me an arrow pointing to iTunes. Can you please help me power on bach my ipad
You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost. -
Installed latest iOS to iPad. Now, seems frozen. Displays a cable with arrow pointing to iTunes. What to do to get my iPad back?
That means that the iPad went into recovery mode, Something went wrong when you tried to update the device. Plug the iPad into your computer, launch iTunes if it doesn't start up on its own and follow the instructions here.

What do these symbols mean on iPhone 4 screen after updating
Charge symbol with arrow pointing to iTunes symbol?...If you do not have a computer with iTunes running on it, then make an Apple Genius appointment at your nearest Apple Store, or Authorized Apple Support center. If you do not have one of those near by, a friend with iTunes installed.

My Ipod touch is frozen. The screen shows only USB cable with arrow point to the word Itunes. What is the problem? This is the second touch I have had that has this same problem. HELP!
This time try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod instead of from backup. You may have some corruption that is causing the problem and it may now be in the backup. If the problem persists after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod. then you likely have a hardware problem and ana ppointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The only thing on the screen of my apple ipad is a white plug with arrow pointing to blue itune icon
when I turn on my ipad the only thing that appears is white cord attached to plug then arrow pointing to blue itunes logo.Thats it nothing else
It needs to be connected to iTunes on a computer. Do you have a particular machine that syncs with iTunes, if so connect it to that.

After downloading IOS 7.1.1 on my ipad, it will neither boot up nor shut down . it maintains a picture of "itunes" phrase with a picture under that of the plug and cord pointing toward the phrase. It is stuck!
It is restored now. Thanks for the comment about disabling firewalls - we did that and tried again and it worked.

My iPod Touch shows USB and arrow pointing to iTunes
It's a newer generation that I bought a while back, but i tried to system restore so my little brother couldn't access my vital applications that i had installed previously.
Whilst plugged in, it said that a system update and iTunes update was required. However, neither fully finished. Instead, the iPod touch shows the generic USB cord with an arrow pointing toward the iTunes symbol.
Is there anything that i can do without having to pay for it to be fixed???First get the latest version (10.6.3 ) of iTunes to install on your computer. See the following if necessary:

The connect the iPod and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in DFU mode and restore if necessary.
