Plse need urgent assistance. Was updating my Iphone and when was installing the Iphone software a problem left my Iphone with the apple icon and can not reinstall it.

Connect your phone to iTunes. You will probably get a pop-up telling your it detected your phone in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored.

Although the official Facebook app doesn't work with the iPhone 3G, there are some apps which claim they are compatible. Here are two you can try:

Im sorry to hear that. You need to restore like brad said.
But you can restore from a latest backup from itunes after restore. I hope you had a recent backup made.

You cannot downgrade.
If you have a 3GS, you can only install iOS 6.1.3 which is the current version of iOS for the device.

If you have a backup of your information on your computer, I would suggest putting your phone into recovery mode, by holding down the home key and keeping it held down while you connect it by usb into your computer with itunes running. Keep the home button held down until it indicates recovery mode, and proceed with the restore.

It sounds like your screen is black but otherwise indicates that it is on. I recommend the troubleshooting steps from the article named:

Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
